This is one of the strangest cards I've seen
recently. It's a combat trick that doesn't help
a creature survive (compare Kindled Fury); it's
a counter-removal spell that you get by
splashing red; it's a creature-based token
generator that you can use on your opponent's
creature. Neither of those, nor any of its other
quirks, are a bad thing. The color pie needs to
be looser, like it was when Magic became a
pop-culture phenomenon in the 1990s, and I look
forward to many years of using it to turn Birds
of Paradise into a major attacker and getting
blown out by it when my opponent is playing
Sligh.
This is a cute combat trick whose point is to
put a 3/2 body on your board through creative
means. Note that you can cast it on any
creature, and you get the token when the
creature dies, regardless of controller.
I don't think it's amazing in Constructed; +1/+0
is not worth a card, so you need to be able to
guarantee that you can kill something the turn
it resolves. I could see it being a fun toy in
certain builds, though, like with Mirrorwing
Dragon or Zada.
