This card uses an awful lot of words to write
out a very simple effect. Of course, so does
Balance, and we all know what its pedigree is.
Declaration in Stone may not go on to have quite
the same long-term legacy, but it's pretty
spectacular nonetheless. Card drawing isn't
quite the end-all of Magic that it was once
considered to be, and there are plenty of
situations where your opponent would rather have
a table full of creatures than a bunch of random
extra draws later on. Don't forget that it can
in fact target tokens, and it's actually
advantageous to do so - don't skim the text and
misread the "non-token" clause on the wrong part
like I almost did!
