As these things go, Nahiri had a relatively
short journey from cryptically absent background
character to front-and-center story player. As I
recall, it's approaching eight years since the
Pathfinder RPG hinted at horrifying truths about
their setting's goddess of the afterlife, which
have yet to be picked up in any of their
plane-hopping adventures. But Nahiri is the real
deal, and there is finally a real challenger to
Ajani Vengeant's role in decks. Her ability to
destroy things is more limited, loyalty-wise,
than Ajani's +1, but it's more permanent; and
her ability to draw cards is unheard of in decks
of her color. For that matter, so is the way she
encourages those colors to play Blightsteel
Colossus.
