I knew I was officially old when I read this
card as a strange mashup of Vitu-Ghazi and
Gargoyle Castle. That's not necessarily a strike
against the card, though it's true that decks
whose colors and cardpool have access to the
former don't have that much incentive to replace
it, and decks that interact with the graveyard
don't have any reason to dislike the latter. But
there are definitely worse ways to summon a
gigantic, unsolvable creature, and it also
interacts with things that care about creatures
dying. It's not a huge deal for older formats,
but it's as hard to stop as any land with
non-land abilities and the fact that it doesn't
tie you to a specific color is worth noting.
