Animation Module
I tried to resist making a reference to Doubling
Season with this review, but I think I just
failed. It shouldn't even have been that hard -
there are so many cards that interact with +1/+1
counters, and so many cards that need as many
artifacts in play as possible, that I really
suspect there's going to be a run on this card -
after all, it's a one-card metalcraft engine,
and it interacts oddly well with New Phyrexia's
poison themes. (Tezzeret is supposed to be
hanging around Ghirapur, too. A hint of things
to come?)

Animation Module (10/17)
This little card is interesting. It’s meant to
synergize with the other two modules in
Kaladesh, Decoction and Fabrication Module. As a
stand-alone, though, this one is clearly the
most powerful: token generation when you get a
+1/+1 counter, and the ability to make even more
on its own with just a single +1/+1 counter on
your board. The activated ability is a weaker
proliferate, which means it works with any
counters (+1/+1, -1/-1, time, loyalty, energy,
poison…among others).
I think this may have some upside in Standard,
but it’s a bit on the slow side, so it’s going
to have to hope that Standard is a bit slower
for it to really have a chance to shine. It’s a
cute combo piece, though, and I think it can
find several homes.
