This card's name is obviously intended to make a
cool mental interaction with Kaladesh's new
vehicle mechanic, but it's a reasonable addition
to the stable of Ray of Command effects. Like
such effects, it's best as an offensive weapon
when you already outnumber your opponent in
creatures, but the fact that it can target
non-creature artifacts makes for some very
amusing possibilities. Stealing a Panharmonicon
when you're ready to play your Siege-Gang
Commander is just the most basic of those!
Threaten effects, or variations on them, are a
long-standing hallmark of every format. This is
no exception, and Hijack has the ability to
swipe artifacts this time. This is actually a
bit more meaningful with the presence of
Vehicles, since they aren't creatures at the
time you’d usually be using a Threaten effect.
Cards that rely on what your opponent has aren't
the best cards to rely on in any format. Hijack
is unlikely to be lacking targets, but I also
don't think this is a card you want to jam into
every deck; it makes sense to figure out what
your opponent has that may be worth absconding
with, or if your stuff is going to be better
than their "best" thing.
