Obsidian Fireheart

Apart from having the most Raymond Swanland-like painting Raymond Swanland ever painted, Obsidian Fireheart offers some interesting options for deckbuilders. The blaze counter damage is a little slow to get going, but there are few ways to stop it, and many decks aren't going to want to sacrifice or destroy their own lands even if they could. I also think it's pretty amusing that you could create some lands with multiple modifying effects on them (come back for tomorrow's card as an example!), and even if that doesn't fit your preferences, you've got to love that inventive reminder text.

Obsidian Fireheart (7/13)

And now for a card that lets you live out your dream of burninating the countryside. Obsidian Fireheart is a way to slowly and excruciatingly close out the game by setting your opponent's lands on fire and letting those kill them.

Of course, Obsidian Fireheart is crippled by several things. It has a color-intensive casting cost, asking for three red in order to get to the field, and the body is fairly underwhelming. It takes seven mana to start combusting lands, and they kill your opponent slowly.

That said, once you get Obsidian Fireheart going, it's pretty awesome. Getting it online and burninating things takes a bit, though.
