Vindicate
This has always been one of my favorite cards.
The Apocalypse version, for example, has a quote
from Gerrard Capashen that sounds suspiciously
like his last words and made me want to see the
entire set the first time I read it. It's by far
the most simple and elegant removal spell ever -
only it and Desert Twister have this exact
wording - and I actually can't help but wonder
what its future is. It certainly seems far too
universal for the current design philosophy in
Standard, yet it's quite similar to Banishing
Light and Anguished Unmaking, both of which were
considered okay. Until that day comes, play it
whenever you can in casual and Commander.

Vindicate (5/23)
Three mana, destroy
anything. Vindicate is simple,
clean, and effective, and there hasn't been
anything quite on its level. Abrupt Decay comes
close, but it does have a subset of targets it
whiffs on, and Anguished Unmaking also does a
pretty good approximation. Vindicate's able to
hit lands, though, which does have a pretty
substantial upside.
If you're in black and
white, in a format where Vindicate is legal,
there's little reason to not run a copy. It's
brutally efficient, and there are enough
problematic targets that make being able to go
for anything a worthy investment.
