v0rac10u5’s Deck Garage
Casual Multiplayer Deck

March 7, 2008

Hi v0rac10u5,

Every once in a while I’ve been trying this deck out in casual multiplayer.  The idea is that I wait until I can get out an Aven Mindcensor, then drop Weird Harvest or New Frontiers depending on what is more urgent.  Using the Harvest, I grab as many Baru’s and Oriss’ as I can, and Genesis, making sure that I will have 8 cards at end of turn to discard him. Then I can recurse grandeur abilities over and over.  I bide my time and generally get the combo off before my friends know I’m playing the deck (they hate it, a lot), although it’s a little slow.  My main problem is that I run out of Oriss’ in hand, or I get ganged up on because I can get so many huge wurm tokens out.  The direction of the win condition isn’t a big deal, just the core combo has to stay.  Any help is appreciated!

Lands:

4x vivid grove

4x vivid plains

7x forest

7x plains

1x pendelhaven

Creatures:

4x oriss, samite guardian

4x baru, fist of krosa

4x aven mindcensor

2x genesis

4x llanowar elves

3x sakura tribe elder

Artifacts:

2x whispersilk cloak (to protect oriss/mindcensor on the board, or make my tokens unblockable)

Other Spells:

4x weird harvest

3x new frontiers

2x wrath of god

3x pacifism

2x harmonize

Total: 60 cards

Regards,

Geoff

This deck seems so silly and so good at the same time. I have a few changes I would suggest, but I think you’ve already covered most of the bases. I dropped Llanowar Elves to make space for Living Wish. This card is just so good in a deck like this. It lets you tutor for a bunch of useful stuff and can get back much need combo pieces if they get removed from the game. If you are playing casual, your sideboard can have as many cards as you want, so go nuts. I also subbed in Privileged Position for Whispersilk Cloak. I would suggest Solitary Confinement in place of Wrath of God. I’ve also suggested a few Wish targets to have on hand. Lastly, I switched all of your lands to basic lands. The Sakura Tribe Elder and New Frontiers can only find basic lands, and you shouldn’t get mana screwed too often with this setup.

**Rules Break: With Solitary Confinement in play and Genesis in your graveyard, you can return the Genesis to your hand and discard it to the Confinement, essentially keeping it alive forever. If you have Living Wished for Krosan Tusker, you can bring the Tusker back, cycle if for a land and a card and then discard one or the other to Solitary Confinement.**
