Welcome
to
another
installment
of
Precon
Recon
here
at
Pojo.com.
In
honor
of
the
Easter
themed
week
I
will
be
taking
a
look
at
an
all
five
color
(WUBRG)
deck.
The
deck
I
will
be
looking
at
is
Spectrum
from
Invasion,
to
keep
in
line
with
current
events
(Phyrexia).
For
the
original
deck
list,

The first difference you will notice about this
deck
is
the
importance
of
rares.
While
normally
I
would
stray
from
putting
rares
in
these
sort
of
deck
rebuilds,
it
is
significantly
important
for
this
deck
to
run
properly.
While
some
of
the
rares
are
easy
to
get,
others
are
not.
Remember,
these
decks
are
my
designs,
and
reflect
how
they
run
smoothly,
and
often
are
for
fun.
And
with
this
particular
deck,
the
gold
merely
adds
to
the
fun
of
Easter
week.
Now with that being said, let’s move onto the deck! As
always,
let’s
begin
with
some
removals.
This
deck
is
mainly
going
to
be
all
about
the
different
kinds
of
lands
(domain),
and
less
about
certain
other
things.
This
ideal
helps
keep
the
deck
focused,
and
moving
in
an
effective
direction.
I
will
also
say
that
this
deck
is
more
over
being
completely
rebuilt
instead
of
just
edited.
Again,
it’s
for
fun
this
week.
So
instead
of
telling
you
what
is
being
pulled
and
why,
I
will
just
list
what
needs
to
be
removed,
and
anything
listed
does
not
fit
the
“Domain”
theme.
Here we go, pull:
-Halam
Djinn
-Zanam
Djinn
-Thornscape
Apprentice
-Serpentine
Kavu
-Kavu
Climber
-Sabertooth
Nishoba
-Yavimaya
Barbarian
-Exclude
-Probe
-Wax//Wane
-Spite//Malice
-Assault//Battery
That is a total of 21 cards out! So let’s get to the
additions.
The
perhaps
most
important
card
for
this
rebuild
is
Prismatic
Omen
out
of
Shadowmoor.
Prismatic
Omen
turns
all
of
your
lands
into
each
basic
land
type,
key
to
setting
off
Domain.
Therefore
there
is
no
doubt
that
four
copies
need
to
go
into
the
deck.
Then
we
want
as
much
that
relies
on
Domain
as
possible.
Two
more
Tribal
Flames
is
necessary
for
either
a
final
blow
or
just
for
creature
control.
Another
key
card
to
the
rebuild
is
Last
Stand.
The
abilities
when
run
with
Prismatic
Omen
are
crazy.
Four
copies
are
suggested.
Add
in
Draco
and
Stratadon
means
that
you
get
some
nasty
creatures
for
relatively
cheap.
I
would
put
in
at
least
two
copies
of
each.
Wandering
Stream
can
gain
you
a
lot
of
life
when
running
this
deck,
and
two
should
be
added.
Collective
Restraint
could
stop
your
opponent
from
sending
creatures
your
way,
another
add
two.
For
the
remaining
three
cards,
I
would
use
those
spaces
for
Tutors.
One
Demonic
Tutor
(since
it’s
restricted)
and
two
Diabolic
Tutors
should
be
just
fine.
The
tutors
make
sure
that
you
can
pull
what
you
need
when
you
need
it.
And
since
the
deck
is
green
heavy,
the
mana
can
get
out
elves
and
Harrow
to
let
you
get
black
mana
for
the
Tutors,
which
can
either
pull
a
Prismatic
Omen,
or
if
you
have
the
Prismatic
Omen,
then
a
Last
Stand
to
end
the
game.
The
Voracious
Cobra
ensure
your
opponent
may
think
twice
about
attacking
with
it’s
First
Strike
and
Deathtouch.
This deck really is a lot of fun to play, and can be nightmarish
for
your
opponents.
The
most
important
thing
is
to
have
fun
while
playing
it.
Next time I take a look at something closer to the now, but a
blast
from
the
past.
So
until
then,
keep
safe,
and
keep
gaming!
