Magic: The Gathering^® Blows through Chicago with the Crowning of 2008’s US National Champion and Prizes Totaling $20,000

A Whirlwind Celebration of Magical Proportions Comes to Chicago with the US’ Best Pro Players

 

WHAT:  Wizards of the Coast will host its premier Magic: The Gathering US Nationals tournament in Chicago, IL Aug 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. The next US national champion will not only go home with $5,000, but they will also represent the US against national champions from all around the world during 2008’s World Championships this December in Memphis, TN.

 

               The Top 3 players receive invitations to the 2008 World Championships and will also be representatives of the US for the team championships. The US National team will compete for the World title against national champions from more than 64 countries around the globe.

                

               Local Magic™ players and fans can easily get in on the action by competing for thousands of dollars worth of prizes at public events taking place throughout the weekend, including invitations and airfare to Pro Tour-Berlin, a laptop, an iPod Touch, and canvas Magic art prints. Additional events taking place during the weekend include Super Friday Night Magic™, learn to play demos, artist signings, card dealers, open play areas and card trading with hundreds of other Magic fans.
