March 2007
GW Tokens V2
3x Chatter of the Squirrel
4x Essence Warden
4x Soul Warden
4x Fist of Ironwood
4x Raise the Alarm
4x Selesnya Evangel
2x Army of Allah
4x Righteous Charge
4x Battle Screech
4x Scatter the Seeds
1x Overrun
(22) Land
9x Plains
9x Forest
4x Selesnya Sanctuary
If you like making tokens, then this is the deck for you.
The basic plan is to build up tokens and then ram them down
your opponent's throat at the appropriate time. You can do
this as a quick kill (around turn 4) or you can play control
style.
With the addition of Essence Warden from Planar Chaos you
have an improved secondary strategy of gaining life as a
stall tactic. Having two Wardens out and casting spells like
Battle Screech or Scatter the Seeds can net you 6-8 life
plus whatever your opponent plays on his/her turn. Having
3-4 wardens just gets ridiculous.
Evangel allows you to keep producing tokens. Don't forget
that you can use the tokens you make with the convoke
ability for Scatter the Seeds or with Evangel to produce
more tokens. Evangel is also a good use for your Wardens,
since you want to keep them out of combat when there is a
chance they will be killed.
This deck is really cheap to build or easy to pimp out in
50-cent foils.
