This is interesting (that means take a look)...Anteaus

I noticed something really interesting the other day. I was dueling my cousin and I realized that he relied on a lot of low-level monsters that helped him gain the upper hand through not only those but also with a lot of helping cards. And that really got me thinking...what are tribute monsters? What about the cards that can have a great influence, without such tributes as Jinzo and Mobius?

That's what I'm here to talk about: the absence of Tributes in a top-tier deck. Now many people just scoffed at this statement, I know, but hear me
out: the only two *competitive, top-tier tributes right now* are Jinzo and Mobius. Because let's face it; Scared Phoenix of Nepthysis is good, but not that good. IMO, he's too high a cost to be played in a level-1 deck. But Jinzo and Mobius? Come on, M/T Control with just two cards! But hold on a second...

Let's take a look at some of the other cards that can negate (and I exclude Magic Jammer and Seven Tools because everyone knows about them, so come
on):

Magic Drain: This card is godly, and here's why: chances are that when your opponent plays a magic card that you need to stop, he/she won't have another one in their hand that they're willing to throw away. And if they are willing to throw it away, then you can simply stall with a Waboku, which everyone should be running by now as part of the staple trap lineup (but that's just me).

Dust Tornado: This card is also awesome because you can effectively control their field with just one or two of these. There's also the extra bonus of setting another M/T on the field after you activate Dust Tornado, so look out for that. I know this destroys, not negates, but that's the point; not only negation, but destruction as well.

Metamorphosis: This card is one of the best IMO. You flip that little Magician of Faith, bring your Heavy Storm back, clear their field (and yours too), then Metamorphosis it into Thousand Eyes Restrict, suck up their heavy-duty Jinzo, and kill them for 2400. Then, unless they kill the Jinzo first or Fissure or something like that, your TER is free from all battle damage. If you read the text, you will find that it says "No monster can switch their battle position or attack as long as this card remains face-up on the field"
(paraphrazing, obviously). You're all wondering "How does this negate M/T?" Well, it's simple; you just leave this guy to stall and your opponent can't wipe him out with Mirror Force or something like that.

Now, for the second part: cards that can beat the crap out of BLS without using BLS. Easy, and for the most part you know all of them. But there is one deck theme that I would just briefly like to cover: Earth.

I know that this archtype has been run into the ground, but it is my favorite and with the addition of FET and now TLM, we start to see a pattern
form: Beasties. Yeah, those things are brutal, especially with 2x Berserk Gorilla (each with an Axe of Despair), 1x Enraged Battle Ox, and a couple of Gemini Elf out there, plus a Gaia Power and a Mage Power and a United We Stand on the Berserk Gorillas; I know, not plausible, but still, one can dream.
However, power like that is attainable with the Earth archtype, mainly because of two cards: Maruading Captain and Gigantes. Both these cards have immesurable swarm capabilities and in the hands of a skilled professional duelist can be deadly even with a BLS-EotB on your opponent's side of the field. Think about it.

Cheers,
Anteaus
