On Chaos Hating - chaosmech

Chaosmech here again, peoples.
I know all of you (well, okay, not all of you) hate Chaos decks and the mess they make of the metagame. You rant and rave about how Chaos decks ruined the entire game. You gripe that no one can defeat the mighty Chaos decks, so those poor schleps that don’t have the money get pwned every time they go to a tournament.
Quite frankly, I disagree with every single one of you chaos-hating maniacs. Just to prove my point, my Chaos deck has no BLS, no CED. It simply has the humble Chaos Sorcerer. And yet, it is capable of (sometimes) defeating a deck that has the almighty Black Luster Soldier. In the hands of an experienced duelist. Chaos decks are not automatically the winners of every tournament.
My point is, you can’t simply hate everyone who supports Chaos. That would be like me hating everyone who ran Zombies simply because my Chaos deck gets pwned by a Zombie deck every time. Every deck has a weakness. No deck is undefeatable. The banlist made sure of that. Burn decks have weaknesses. Zombie Control Decks have weaknesses. Water decks have weaknesses. Exodia decks have weaknesses. EVERY DECK HAS AT LEAST ONE WEAKNESS! And where there is a weakness, a duelist can exploit it.
For instance, the more experienced and well-read of you know that Burn decks fall victim to M/T destruction. So, too, Chaos decks have weaknesses that can be exploited. I’ll show you the best anti-Chaos cards out there, and if I have time, I’ll create an exclusively anti-Chaos deck.

1. Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
2. Banisher of the Light
3. Soul Release
4. Necrovalley
5. Big Burn
6. Dark Blade the Dragon Knight
7. Jowgen the Spiritualist
8. Royal Oppression
9. D.D. Designator
10. D. D. Dynamite

1. Ever heard of this little gem? It’s a super rare in LON, and it goes something like this. Your opponent can’t remove cards in either graveyard from play. When this card does damage to your opponent’s LP, remove 2 monsters in their graveyard from play. It has 1800 ATK, and four stars. It’s Dark, and a Spellcaster, meaning it has plenty of support.
2. This one is excellent as well. As long as it’s face-up on the field, all cards that would be sent to the graveyard are removed from play instead. Super rare from MRL. With 2000 DEF, it’ll last a while, too.
3. This one is nice, too. A common in the SDP, it is also in MRD. You can remove up to 5 cards in either graveyard from play. Get rid of those Lights and Darks before BLS hits the field.
4. Necrovalley… the staple in the Gravekeeper decks. As long as it’s on the field, your opponent can’t manipulate cards in either graveyard. In fact, nobody can. No removing to special summon!
5. Now I don’t know if targeting a monster for removal is part of the trigger of Big Burn, but if it is, then when your opponent starts to remove, activate this and watch them kiss their graveyard goodbye [Lord Tranorix note: It's not; you can't activate Big Burn when your opponent tries to summon Chaos Monsters]. If not, then Premature Burial and Call of the Haunted will trigger it, and then all their monsters and other cards are gone.
6. This card was a lot better when Scientist wasn’t banned. However, assuming you can get it out (via Metamorphosis… I wouldn’t recommend the regular fusion) you can remove up to 3 monsters in your opponent’s graveyard when it does Battle Damage to their life points. Kind of like Kycoo, but not quite as good.
7. Jowgen. OMG, this card just screams “get me out of your crap folder and put me in your deck, you nincompoop!” When it’s summoned, any monsters that have been Special Summoned (like Chaos monsters) are destroyed, and as long as it’s on the field, no monsters can be special summoned. Unfortunately, its stats are pretty bad. That’s why it ranks lower than Banisher.
8. Royal Oppression can negate a Special Summon by paying 800 LP. Not bad, eh?
9. D. D. Designator. If you know your opponent has their BLS, because you either Compulsory Evacuation Deviced it, or you saw their hand by accident, declare BLS—EOTB and watch it get removed from play. Mind Crush works similarly.
10. D. D. Dynamite doesn’t prevent the Chaos monsters, it just makes your opponent pay for summoning them. That’s why it gets placed last.
If any of you Chaos-hating maniacs have questions, suggestions, comments, deck fixes, or whatever, just e-mail them to me at chaosmech@juno.com
