Self Destruct Button
Deck- Lance
From: James Smith <mechademonslayer@yahoo.com>
Date: Tue, 10 May 2005 11:57:20 -0700 (PDT)
Hello again! Hopefully, you may remember me from my Casual
Gravekeeper deck idea from April. Well, I am back again,
this time with a much more fun and creative deck. As you
read from the title, I will be basing a deck upon
Self-Destruct Button. This is a pretty nifty little card,
which will cause a lot of frustration and annoyance in your
opponent. The idea is simple: create a gap between you and
your opponent’s life points in the difference of at least
7000, and simply end the game there. Develop your own little
catch phrase to go with it also. Personally, I enjoy “No one
goes home a loser today! Self Destruct!” Ah…priceless. Keep
in mind, however, this is not a deck based upon winning
(duh!). But if you are looking for a unique and creative
deck idea that is sure to create a ripple in the current
meta-game, feel free to try your hand at this one. So,
without further adieu, here is my deck.
Total Deck Size-40
Monsters level 1 to 4-12 (order of attack)
Spirit Reaper x3
Magician of Faith x3
Apprentice Magician x3
A Cat of Ill Omen x3
Spells-14
Level Limit Area B x2
Metamorphosis x2
Upstart Goblin x2
Pot of Greed
Card Destruction
Graceful Charity
Messenger of Peace x3
Swords of Revealing Light
Delinquent Duo
Traps-14
Self-Destruct Button x3
Wall of Revealing Light x3
Curse of Royal x2
Spell Shield Type 8 x3
Solemn Judgment x3
Side Deck
Scapegoat x3
Curse of Royal x1
Snatch Steal
Mask of Darkness x2
Gravity Bind x2
Waboku x3
Chaos Sorcerer x2
Cyber Jar
That is the basic skeleton for the deck. Thinning out your
deck is a key factor here: Apprentice Magician, Pot of
Greed, Upstart Goblin, and the Cats of Ill Omen will allow
you to further weed out your deck for Wall and
Self-Destruct. Magician of Faith is there to recycle your
drawing and stall power, and as an added bonus, morph into
Thousand Eyes Restrict via Metamorphosis.
Both Level Limits, the Walls of Revealing Light, Messenger
or Peace, and the Swords will hold your opponent at bay
hopefully long enough to pull out Self-Destruct. And with
all these continuous cards, you will need protection from
the dangers of Dust Tornado, Mystical Space Typhoon,
Breaker, Giant Trunade, and Heavy Storm. This is where all
the counter traps come into play. Curse of Royal will defend
against most forms of magic/trap removal except Heavy Storm,
so that’s what Spell Shield Type 8 is to protect against,
plus guard Spirit Reaper for free!
Most likely, if you have never played a deck type like this
before it will be challenging until you get the hang of it.
Do not be surprised to have your entire magic/trap zone full
more than one time in the duel. Just remember to always
protect your forms of stalling, and always keep a slot open
for Self-Destruct.
If you still need help, that’s what the side deck is for. 2
Chaos Sorcerers should be enough to handle Jinzo if you did
not have a Solemn Judgment or Level Limit- Area B on the
field when he was summoned. If you are feeling lucky, you
might want to try Cyber Jar as well. Snatch Steal will help
your opponent gain more life points, but it will also clog
up your field as well.
And there you have it! If you have any questions, comments,
or other form of communication you would like to share with
me, email me at MechaDemonSlayer@yahoo.com. See you next
time!
