The power of Knights by Sean
--
From: seanslcars@comcast.net

Sean’s back with a new article for you all. Don’t forget to
check out www.seanzhomepage.freeservers.com for my personal
site and if you want send in your decks to be fixed in my
informal deck garage feel free to email me.
This is an idea for a deck design you can’t exactly use yet.
got this idea while cruising DM7FGD’s Look into the Future
and came across Article #42 "Krazy Knights". By the way let
me take this moment to say that DM7FGD is the man. Moving
on. We should all know the Knight cards. Yugi uses them time
and time again on the show. Anyway I decided to take a look
at this little warrior family and build a deck around them.
Stengths: As a warrior deck, speed is pretty much taken for
granted. However, it will be even greater here. This deck is
like a speed machine. The basis of the deck will obviously
be the three knights. I won’t detail the effects you can
just look them up on DM7FGD’s article here: http://www.pojo.com/yu-gi-oh/FeaturedWriters/DM7FGD/2004/3-25.shtml.
Individually, the knights are easy pickings. Why is why the
whole deck supports them. Both King’s and Queen’s Knights
should be run in threes. Jack’s Knights, since it’s a
deadweight in your hand, should be limited to two here.
Marauding Captain’s will help with the swarming effect and
will provide protection for the knights. It’s also the
reason that King’s Knight has to be Normal Summoned for its
effect to activate. Imagine this scenario. You already have
Queen’s Knight on the field when your turn starts. Summon
Marauding Captain, use his effect to Special Summon King’s
Knight, use his effect (if it allowed special summons for
the Jack’s summoning to occur) to summon Jack’s Knight.
Three monsters in one turn. Ouch. 6200 ATK. Call or
Premature a Command Knight and it’s a friendly handshake
with your opponent before moving on to the next round. As
far as OTKs go, that ones relatively simple. So now you know
why you have to Normal Summon King’s Knight to get the
Jack-summoning effect. Command Knights will provide much
needed power boosts that will be further augmented with
Luminous Spark and The A. Forces. Shining Angel will help
with the speed angle by bringing Queen’s Knight into play to
prepare for the coming of King’s Knight and then Queen’s
Knight. Breaker and Cyber Jar are your basic support mons to
fall back on if your warriors start getting roasted. This
deck will provide lots of speed, and a careless opponent
could quickly find themself facing an army of souped-up
Knights aimed at their life points. All the cards work
together to support each other.
Weaknesses: This deck lacks a bit in ATK power. Note that
this is a trait inherent to most Warrior decks. Warriors
like to work together and get support. While it certainly
works out well most of the time, those duels that it doesn’t
get pretty ugly. Protecting Queen’s Knight will be essential
in this deck. Pretty much the bulk of your primary strategy
is resting on a 1500/1600 effectless monster. That could be
a problem. *cough* understatement of the year *cough* Anyway
here’s a Knights deck.
