Winged Dragon of Ra
10.21.05 Hello!
Firstly, I would like to extend my sincerest and deepest
apologies for all of the commotion / problems that the
article after this paragraph caused. My purpose in doing
this was to put some more clarity on how to use the Winged
Dragon Of Ra in a duel. As every Yugioh fan knows, there are
no official rules on how to use the Winged Dragon Of Ra. To
the fine people who work at the Pojo website, please remove
this article wherever it is posted and put this paragraph in
its place instead. There is SO MUCH information on the
Winged Dragon Of Ra that it is literally impossible to tell
which ones are credible and which ones aren't! Again, I
extend my sincerest and deepest apologies for all of the
commotion / problems that the article below caused. As a
huge fan of the Yugioh series, I hope that everyone accepts
my apologies. To spare others from the scrutiny and problems
that was inflicted upon myself by this article that was
intended with the best intentions in mind, please keep your
rules for playing with the Egyptian God Cards to yourselves
to spare yourselves from unecessary problems that I have
recently encountered! I am neither upest nor angry, I am
just warning others out there from making the same mistake
that I have! Until Konami or Upper Deck release a set of
"OFFICIAL RULES ON HOW TO USE THE EGYPTIAN GOD CARDS," I
would refrain from using the Egyptian God Cards to avoid
getting into an argument with somebody or a group of people.
The only exception to this rule is if you are playing with
your friends who all agree on a set of rules for the
Egyptian God Cards. Each person has a hobby in life that
takes them away from all of the stress and problems that we
have everyday. Always remember to put your education and
work ahead, and you will always be able to find time to do
what you enjoy! In my case, it is Yugioh. Furthermore, there
is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying your hobby
(whatever it may be), just keep everything in balance. You
know: Work, School, House Maintenence, Financial Maintenence,
Social Obligations and your hobby. I gotta go people, peace
out! Yugioh forever baby!"
THE WINGED DRAGON OF RA
You must tribute three monsters in order to summon Ra to the
field. Ra’s attack is equivalent to the current attack sum
of the three monsters used to tribute summon it to the field
and Ra’s defense is equivalent to the current defense sum of
the three monsters used to tribute summon it to the field.
Like the other Egyptian Gods, control shifting effects are
completely useless against them! Also, the Egyptian Gods are
ranked among themselves, thus the higher your status, the
more immune you are to the effects of the others! The Winged
Dragon Of Ra is the most powerful, hence Slifer’s and
Obelisk’s special abilities will be completely useless
against Ra. Slifer The Sky Dragon is the second most
powerful, hence Obelisk’s special ability is completely
useless against Slifer. Obelisk The Tormentor is the weakest
of the three.
(1) 99.0% Immune to trap card effects, they can’t be
destroyed or returned to the controller’s hand! Effects like
“Call of the Haunted” will only bring Ra back to the field
for one turn. Ra’s attack and defense are zero when it is
summoned from the graveyard. The 1% of trap cards that
affect them only last for one turn and are automatically
destroyed upon the beginning of the next turn.
(2) 99.0% Immune to spell card effects, they can’t be
destroyed or returned to the controller’s hand! Effects like
“Monster Reborn” will only bring Ra back to the field for
one turn. Ra’s attack and defense are zero when it is
summoned from the graveyard. The 1% of spell cards that
affect them only last for one turn and are automatically
destroyed upon the beginning of the next turn.
(3) 100% Immune to monster effects, they can’t be destroyed
or returned to the controller’s hand! Monster effects that
resurrect monsters from the graveyard are completely useless
on them.
Unlock Ra’s battle mode
When successfully summoned to the field, Ra will be in its
sphere mode. In this form, Ra will still occupy one slot in
the monster card zone. However, it will be unable to defend
your life points, has no battle position, and cannot be
targeted as a attack target, monster effect target, trap
target, or spell target!
To unlock Ra’s battle mode, you must recite the incantation
below. The summoner gets the first chance to do so, if
they’re unable to do it on their turn, the opponent can do
so at the beginning of their turn.
“Great beast of the sky please hear my cry. Transform
thyself from orb of light and bring me victory in this
fight. Envelop the dessert with your glow and cast your rage
upon my foe. Unlock your powers from deep within so that
together we may win. Appear in this shadow as I call your
name, WINGED DRAGON OF RA!
Ra’s Special Abilities
(1) Soul Absorption Ability: Ra will absorb the current
attack/defense of the three monsters that were used to
tribute summon it to the field. Thus its attack/defense will
be the total sum of these monster’s attributes.
(2) Command Ability: Ra will only obey and follow whoever
recites the ancient incantation and awakens it from its
sphere mode. Thus, the only way for your opponent to control
Ra when summoned from the graveyard would be for them to
recite the ancient incantation. Therefore, your opponent
using “monster reborn” without reciting the ancient
incantation will result in Ra appearing on your side of the
field instead.
(3) Instant Attack Ability: When successfully summoned from
the graveyard, Ra can attack immediately regardless of any
trap or spell effects that forces Ra to wait to attack or
makes it unable to declare attack because it forced to
switch to defense mode. Don’t forget, Ra will return to the
graveyard at the end phase of this turn.
(4) Point-to-Point Transfer Ability #1: This ability can
only be used when Ra is summoned from the graveyard.
Transfer all but one of your life points to permanently
increase Ra’s attack and defense equal to the number of life
points that you gave up. Don’t forget, Ra will return to the
graveyard at the end phase of this turn.
(5) Point-to-Point Transfer Ability #2: This ability can
only be used when Ra is summoned from the graveyard. Instead
of using “Point-to-Point Transfer Ability #1,” sacrifice any
other monster on your side of the field to permanently
increase Ra’s attack and defense equal to the total number
of the current attack and defense of the monsters that were
sacrificed for this special ability. This ability can be
used in conjunction with “Point-to-Point Transfer Ability
#1.” Don’t forget, Ra will return to the graveyard at the
end phase of this turn.
(6) Immortal Phoenix Mode: Pay 1000 life points to transform
Ra into its ultimate form! If you wish to do so, Ra can
destroy every card on your opponent’s side of the field and
inflict half of Ra’s current attack as direct damage to your
opponent’s life points. If your opponent somehow manages to
survive this onslaught, Ra will remain in this form until
the end phase of the next turn. Although Ra cannot be
removed from the field and receives absolutely no battle
damage while in its “Immortal Phoenix Mode,” the ability to
destroy every card on your opponent’s side of the field and
inflict direct damage to their life points can only be used
upon the initial activation of the this effect! The 1% of
spell and trap cards that affect Ra becomes completely
useless while it remains in this mode.
