Subject: Heart of the Cards Testing VERY VERY LONG!!! - Sgrab45

Before you read this, read Heart of the Cards - Ezekiel, in the January 2006 area.

Hey evryone! My last post was just me talking about basic e-hero stratagies in my deck. Now, I'm taking off on Ezekiel's post on a very contriversial topics. The Heart of The Cards, or The Soul of The Deck.

Ezekiel mentioned (and many can relate to this, including myself) that on occasion he would need a certain card to win a duel. That was the next card he drew. This happenes all the time, so you should never give up a duel, because you always have a chance to turn it around.

For some tests on the heart of the cards, I took my Elemental Heroo Deck, and removed Elemental Recharge to make it a solid forty cards. (Remember that I will be posting more about this topic with more tests!)

Now, in the tests I will be conducting, there will be different sized decks (mainly 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60) and different kinds. The tests will be written down (like this one) and the decks will be put into duels that will exploit the nessisary card. If you want your deck included for the testing, list it, and make sure that it is one of the above sizes. (In a few months I will test with random sizes. ex, 47, 52, 41, 59) And I will try to add it to the tests.

Down to the real stuff now. I wrote on a paper the list of cards in my deck, one copy of each, and all the cards. Then on a paper, I wrote out what was happening to thin the deck out. This simulation is looking fo HERO KID. The fractions are:

# of copies of desired card/current # of cards in the deck

(REMEMBER! This is a made up simulation! Don't email me asking how hero kid could win a duel. He was chosen because there are three of him in the deck!)

TURN 1

Start: 3/40

Draw: 3/34

Pot of Greed: 3/32

End Turn: 3/32

TURN 2

Draw: 3/31

Fusion Sage: 3/30

End Turn: 3/30

TURN 3

Draw: 3/29

Hero Signal: 3/28

End Turn:

TURN 4

Draw: 3/27

Swords of Revealing Light: 3/27

End Turn: 3/27

TURN 5

OOOOOOOOK!!!!!!!! This is the moment of truth! You neeeeeed hero kid!

At this point, the chances of getting hero kid are 3/27 OR 1/9

Here, I took 27 cards and shuffled them up and drew 16 times. Three are hero kids. None of the listed above in the turn sequences were used. Here are the results.

X= Non Hero Kid O= Hero Kid

OXOXXXOOOXXXXOXX

THESE ARE REAL RESULTS.

As you can see, it started out pretty even, but then less hero kids started to appear.

1/9 isn't exactally bad odds to get your card anyway. Thats all for this article, and more than likly, I'm about to write another.

Send me some comments on this, and if you want to be part of it, your screen name

(example: sgrab45) and your deck list. You'll get credit, and dont worry, I'm not in it to steal your decks. That's just low.
