Subject: Interesting Spin on Macro Cosmos - Master
of Shadows
Hello, Pojoers! Master of Shadows is here with
another tip. I'm going to put an interesting spin on
Macro Cosmos. Does anyone remember Ectoplasmer?
Let's review, shall we?
Ectoplasmer
Continuous Spell
Only once during each player's End Phase, each
player Tributes 1 face-up monster on his/her side of
the field and inflicts damage to the opponent's Life
Points equal to half of the original ATK of the
Tributed Monster.
Now for Macro Cosmos.
Macro Cosmos
Continuous Trap
You can Special Summon 1 "Helios - The Primordial
Sun" from your hand or Deck. While this card is on
the field, any card sent to the Graveyard is removed
from play instead.
For the time being, we're ignoring Macro's first
effect of summoning Helios.
[If you know of Macro Cosmos' purpose, then skip the
lecture.]
The purpose of Macro Cosmos is to get everything
removed and then to do one of two things. 1) Use
monsters and cards that focus on the number of cards
removed. Examples would be Helios - The Primordial
Sun, Gren Maju Da Eiza, Golden Homunculus, and
Graverobber's Retribution. In these cases, you
wouldn't really care about what gets removed, so
long as it fuels the fire. 2) Remove the monsters
just to use Return from the Different Dimension to
bring back the big monsters to swarm for the win.
This is the most common use of it outside of using
D.D. Survivor and D.D. Scout Plane and their
Treeborn Frog-like effects as near infinite Tribute
bait for monsters, mainly the Monarchs. Now to get
to the meat.
[End of lecture. Begin reading now.]
The purpose of this article is to combine
Ectoplasmer with Macro Cosmos and Return from the
Different Dimension. Let's review that one now.
Return from the Different Dimension
Normal Trap
Pay half of your Life Points. Special Summon as many
of your monsters as possible that have been removed
from play on your side of the field. During the End
Phase, remove from play all monsters that were
Special Summoned by this effect.
Combining these three cards I discussed can yield
some powerful results. If you plan on using them as
your main strategy, then let me give you some cards
to use.
High attack level 4 monsters
By those, I mean monsters like Goblin Attack Force
and Indomitable Fighter Lei Lei. Both have 2300
attack. Chainsaw Insect works, too. So do monsters
with 2200 attack. If you can't get all of them, then
just use 1900 attack monsters. And Fusilier Dragon,
the Dual-Mode Beast. He has 2800 attack and can be
summoned without Tribute. You'll see what I mean.
And Malice Doll of Demise. If you don't have
anything removing monsters, then Malice Doll would
be 800 points to your opponent each turn as he would
keep reviving himself.
Macro Cosmos, Banisher of Light, Banisher of the
Radiance, and Dimensional Fissure
All four cards remove everything, except for
Dimensional Fissure. It only removes monsters. The
Banishers are Macro Cosmos in monster form. We're
trying to remove monsters with these and Ectoplasmer.
Force your opponent into sacrificing their big
strong monsters.
Cards that protect your combo
That's obvious. For Dimensional Fissure and
Ectoplasmer, use Magic Reflector. It could work for
Snatch Steal if you decide to take their monster,
slap them with it, and Tribute it for Ectoplasmer.
Cards that take your opponent's monster
Examples are Snatch Steal, Brain Control, and Soul
Exchange. You could use your opponent's monsters as
Tributes to further cripple them as well as keep
your monster.
I hope this helped anyone trying to run an original
deck using Macro Cosmos. I'm in the process of
trying to build a deck like the one I just described
now. I hope you have fun with it and good luck.
