Subject: The history of Yu-Gi-Oh - JK-47

Howdy once again to all those in Pojodom. Today I am back with a new rant, one that is completely unrelated to the actual TCG. The reason I am here to rant is because I'm a sucker for mythologies. I get swept away by stories, especially if they offer some sort of fantastical element. The world of Yu-Gi_Oh offers fantastic elements, but I am not talking about the anime or the game itself. I am referring to the pictures, and on occasion, texts of the cards. These often point at some deeper story concerning the monsters and their lives. For example, look at the Gagagigo family of cards. From Gigabyte all the way to Gogiga Gagagigo, the text of the card documents the rise and fall of a single character. In addition, several cards make mention to Dark World, and not just the Dark World monsters either. The Inpachi cards all mention Dark World, as does Mad Lobster. Clearly, there is a Dark World, and the stories of the events that take place their are waiting to be told. In other ways the cards also depict stories. On spell and trap cards, the images tell a tale. For example, on Draining Shield, a trap card, Freed has erected a force field around himself to prevent Giga Gagagigo from attacking him. On Double Attack, the Marauding Captain has sliced up an Inpachi. On one of the D.D. spell cards, D.D.W.L. is sitting on the outside of a force field that is containing Giga Gagagigo. On Simultaneuous Loss, Warrior Dai Grepher and the Warrior Lady of the Wasteland are attacking each other. On Dimension Wall, Dai is attacking D.D.W.L., but upon close inspection she looks a heck of a lot like the Warrior Lady of the Wasteland.
Heck, in the background of the D.D.W.L. card there is what could be viewed as a wasteland. They could very well be the same character. But, we don't know.
I don't know if this is just me who wants the stories of the monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh, or if others besides me have noticed that there is a missing part to the game, but I just thought I would bring it to everyone's attention.
Personally, once I'm done with school, I think I'm going to write a little bit of fan-fiction telling the tales of the monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh, offering a background to the favorite monsters and artwork.

Peace.

JK-47

Think I'm crazy? Agree with me? Have an idea as to how the Warrior Lady of the Wasteland became the D.D.W.L.? email me at basil_koriander@hotmail.com
