Subject: Speedy Soul Control/Monarch Deck Strategy - Ezekiel

Hi all, I've looked over the tried and tested Soul Control Decks made famous by Evan "Sandtrap" Vargas and I personally added a little speed to mine in order to make them faster.

This is a variation of the classic Soul Control format and I realise that some people may dis this as a copied deck.

Some of the changes I've made include all of the Monarchs in the lineup rather than double copies of Zaborg and Mobius as this is a Momarch Deck first and foremost. Secondly I have not included many of the staples of this type of deck, namely Don Zaloog, Spirit Reaper or D. D. Assailant, as I prefer variety in my deck and so included doubles of only very beneficial cards; Peten, Sangan, Soul Exchange and Sakuretsu Armor.

Anywho this is the Deck I designed, I attribute thanks to the pioneer of Soul Control, Sandtrap, and hope that people appreciate the personla adjustments that I've made.

For example, the inclusion of Gilasaurus means that played on your first turn (if you went second) means that with Monarch in hand you can launch your effect immediately. This would prove helpful if you dud not have one of the "snatching" cards at that time.

I included Broww as well because of the drawing power he has. If you discard him you draw 1 card, not bad and if he is discarded by your opponent, you get 2 cards. Since there are a few cards that require you to discard ie Lightning Vortex and Monster Reincaration, you could destroy monsters on your opponents field, or bring a Monarch back to your hand to use his effect again. The lack of attack points (1400) means that he can be searched by Lasrt Will/Sangan.

Apart from the staples such as Breaker, DDWL, MoF etc, I included a little known card from the Movie Exclusive Packs - Peten the Dark Clown. His effect is that if he is sent to the graveyard, you can remove him from play to Special Summon another from your hand or deck. I thought it was a good variation on Gravekeeper's Spy as it would need to be face down to flip summon it, and if the opponent used Nobleman of Crossout your strategy would be sunk.

If anyone has any ideas or criticisms of this deck don't be afraid to email me at - squallaurabolt@aol.com
