Reader Tips, Rants and Raves

Subject: The Revitalization of Yu-Gi-Oh!--Anteaus
Duelists, arise! Wake up and express what you know to
others; don't save it for the message boards; extend those
boards onto this page, say what you want to say without fear
of being ignored. Know that what you say there has impacts
on duelists around the world. I have been impacted by what
goes on in the CCG Strategies page; personally, it was
because of this page that I ultimately made the initial
switch to Control way back in PGD times. It was because of
the people who wrote in to Pojo in hopes of being published
on the site that I even got into the game as heavily as I
did. Pojo was merely the website; it was the people who I
truly interacted with that led me to be the duelist I am
today.
Now, there are thousands upon thousands of n00bs as well as
veterans of the game that can ultimately benefit from Pojo.
Don't rely on the articles that DeathJester or Napay post;
sure, they're great and insightful, but what about the
common duelist? Most of us have never been to a Shonen Jump
Championship, let alone participated or even made it into
the top 20. Most of us participate at the local level, at
the card shops, where true innovations occur. Where the real
decks are made and played and refined and ultimately become
the decks that we see at Nationals or Worlds. How do you
think Soul Control started, or Chaos, or Cyber Dragon build?
What we see from the featured writers is only a small
portion of what the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe is; we don't see the
other side. There has been no discussions like there was
when the original banlist came out. That was exciting, to
get your voice out there and heard and get your post read
and responded to. People read these, but the problem is is
that when nothing comes out, there's nothing to read, and
when there's nothing to read, we as the duelists don't live
up to our full dueling potential.
I understand that there have been technical difficulties
with the site, but still, even before, the lack of
information between duelists through this page was
appalling!
So please, please, for my sake and for the sake of Pojo.com,
Yu-Gi-Oh! and the entire OCG/CCG universe, contribute to
this page. Raise your voice from a whisper in a card shop,
let it be heard and responded to. Don't be afraid to be
talked back to; the only way we truly learn is through
argument, debate, explanation and reasoning with one
another. This is how it goes, people, and with that we need
to know that without this page, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pojo cease to
serve their intended purposes: not only to have fun, but to
deliver information and through that we learn. Through this
page, we become better duelists. Dueling is not all about
winning; its about becoming the best duelist. We become the
best by sharing ideas and listening to others; that is what
I'm stressing. Learn from each other, share, respond, that's
all I'm asking for.
If you made it this far, e-mail me and let me know, so I can
congratulate you in person. Also, if you have the time
(while you're e-mailing me) share some ideas with me, let me
know how you feel about certain topics, share deck ideas,
all that jazz. Then, when you're finished talking to me--or
even before, I don't care. In fact, don't e-mail me. Just
send what you would send me into the CCG Strategies page.
Send it in, and trust me, I will respond to you. I will let
you know what I think. I guarantee it.
All of you, heed this warning: this game will die if you do
not support it. We will lose everything this game offers us,
so please, please, send in stuff. If we lose this, it will
be like losing your soul--your duelist soul. Don't lose your
soul.
Cheers,
Anteaus
