Subject: Plants: Can they bloom in the Metagame?-Bodacious1 (for tips page)

Plants- can they bloom in the current Metagame?

The answer is yes.

Plants are one of the most neglected monster-types in Yu-Gi-Oh. Plants come rare in numbers, and there is very few Plant support as well when you come into Magics and Traps. Plants have been neglected because of the little support, I mean, for all of you Yu-Gi-Oh veterans out there, how many of you

have ever played or played against a Plant deck?

The main focus of the Plant Deck is a sheer beatdown. Your Plants are used in conjunction with the effect of your main card: "Fairy King Truesdale" for

excellent results. Many people have never heard of Truesdale, simply because

he is a video-game promo and, therefore, does not arrive in the packs we buy

so often.

Featured Card #1:

Fairy King Truesdale
Monster, WATER, Plant-type, ******, 2200 ATK, 1500 DEF
Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK and DEF of all Plant-Type monsters on your side of the field by 500 points.

Wow! A card that improves an entire Plant deck, and also making itself a one-tribute-2700-Attacker. This is the one card that really made Plant decks

playable. It helps everything out, including itself. This, even though a tribute monster, should be abused in threes.

Featured Card #2:

Homunculus the Alchemic Being
Monster, LIGHT, Plant-type, ****, 1800 ATK, 1600 DEF
Effect: You can change the Attribute of this monster. This effect can only be used once per turn.

This will mainly be used for the beatdown strategy (2300 ATK with Truesdale), but its effect can also come in handy with our third featured card, A Legendary Ocean from LOD.

Featured Card #3:

A Legendary Ocean
Spell, Field
Effect: This card's name is treated as "Umi". Downgrade all WATER monsters in both player's hands and on the field by 1 Level. Increases the ATK and DEF of all WATER monsters by 200 points.

As you may be thinking, you can change Homunculus to WATER when this is on the field and you have a 2000 ATK monster (2500 with Truesdale). You can also use this cards' effect in conjunction to the fourth featured card, DNA Transplant,

Featured Card #4:

DNA Transplant
Trap, Continuous
Effect: Declare 1 Attribute when you activate this card. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the Attribute of all face-up monsters on the field becomes the one you declared.

Yup, you guessed it, its as simple as this "make everything WATER". That gives everything the one-star downgrade and an extra 200 ATK and DEF. So, if

you'll play the deck right, you'll have a bunch of monsters on the field that range from 2400-2900 ATK, some having nice effects and some being 3 stars!

Featured Card #5:

Lord Poison
Monster, WATER, Plant-type, ****, 1500 ATK, 1000 DEF
Effect: When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard as a result of

battle, Special Summon 1 Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard except "Lord Poison" on your side of the field.

Here's your main source of Plant monster revival, you can get back almost any plant. Truesdale Destroyed by a Sakuretsu? Bring it right back!

Some of you, looking at the decklist below might be wondering what the Tomatoes and the Gather your Mind are for. Clever me, I made this deck run better by incorporating speed instead of more Plant support (because there is none!). The Tomatoes are used to search each other out and thin the deck for you, same with the gather your Mind.

Deck Total: 40

Monsters: 18

Fairy King Truesdale x3 (Promo)

Lord Poison x3 (IOC Common)
Mystic Tomato x3 (MRL Rare)
Homunculus the Alchemic Being x3 (RSD Common) Rafflesia Seduction x2 (SOD Rare) Vampire Orchis x2 (MFC Common) Des Dendle (MFC Common) Sangan (MRD Rare)

Spells: 18

A Legendary Ocean x3 (LOD Common)
Last Will x3 (SDY/SKE Common)
Gather your Mind x3 (MFC Common)
Different Dimension Capsule x2 (PGD Common) Enemy Controller (AST Ultra Rare) Book of Moon (PGD Rare) Heavy Storm (MRD Super Rare) Mystical Space Typhoon (MRL Ultra Rare) Nobleman of Crossout (PSV Super Rare) Swords of Revealing Light (LOB Super Rare) Giant Trunade (MRD Super Rare)
