Raigeki Break, little
Raigeki? By Shine-Soldier
Hello, folks.
I’m back with a new article. This time, I’m gonna do a
little chit chat about Raigeki Break. Of course, the title
of this article is just a joke. Compared to Raigeki, this
card just totally suck. But hey, most monster removal cards
do. However, this card isn’t a card that can be used for
monster removal only, but could be a S/T remover too. In
both cases, there are better cards, like if you wanna get
rid of a face-down monster, use Nobleman, if a Cyber Dragon
is annoying you, use Smashing Ground and if you can’t stand
that face-down threat in your opponent’s S/T zone, stick
with MST. But Raigeki Break can do on it’s own what these
three cards can do, only for one mere cost: a card from your
hand. For you who don’t know what Raigeki Break does, read
the explanation:
Raigeki Break
PGD-096
Trap/Normal
“Discard one card from your hand to the Graveyard to destroy
one card on the field.”
Common
So the fact is, this card can destroy just any card you’d
like for just 1 card from your hand. It’s true that this
will give you a –1 disadvantage, but because it’s so damn
versatile, that wouldn’t be a huge problem. Even in today’s
format where hand managemant and draw power is extremely
important, this card could kick some ass. It’s chainable
against Mobius, which sees a lot of play today, and to
almost any other card, including Royal Decree. You can
destroy that Don Zaloog that slips just under your
Bottomless Trap Hole and you can remove that D.D. Assailant
without having to let one of your own monsters be removed
from play. It’s also true that Sakuretsu Armor can kill
these guys, but then they have to attack first. Don Zaloog
will most likely not be used as a defense, but a defense
position D.D. Assailant could be really annoying. Now that
Spirit Reaper is so popular, you’re gonna need some extra
monster removal, because Bottomless and Sakuretsu won’t kill
this guy, asuming it is used for defense. Well, Raigeki
Break could be a good option.
What I’m trying to say, don’t think that this is a bad card
just because it costs you one card from your hand. You can
do so many different things with this card. Just to give you
some more examples:
- It can get a Snatch Stolen monster back without destroying
the monster itself
- It can chain against almost every, if not every S/T
removal in the game, leading to a 2-for-2, asuming you can
destroy another card with this card.
Just think about this card instead of throwing it away and
think: ‘it’s bad, because it costs a card.’
Thanks for reading this article. Hope you enjoyed it. If you
have anything to say about this article, feel free to mail
me at jeroen.mandersloot@gmail.com
Well, maybe ‘til next time.
