Subject: The Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon Deck - Nick S.
Back again for a second tip.
Okay, this time, I'm focusing on a real deck idea. The
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon deck. And it's not a Cyber-Stein,
Fusion Gate or The Light - Hex-Sealed Fusion one (a BEUD
Metamorphosis is impossible, so it's not included). This
deck runs closer to both the traditional Polymerization, as
well as the Fusion Gate ideas, and it is 100% Dimension
Fusion/Return from the Different Dimension friendly. Do you
know the card I'm talking about?
Anyway, this deck will rely on getting three Blue-Eyes in
the right place, NOT getting two Blue-Eyes and a Fusion sub
in the right place.
For those who don't know...
Name: Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (JMP-EN005)
Level: 12
Attribute: LIGHT
Type: Dragon/Fusion
ATK: 4500
DEf: 3800
Description: "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" + "Blue-Eyes White
Dragon" + "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"
And I doubt there's many people who don't know. I don't have
a BEUD myself
(living in Australia, I can't get Shonen Jump), but it's one
of the most
simple monsters to remember.
Anyway, the card that the deck is going to be using for the
Special Summon
of BEUD is...
Name: Dragon's Mirror (CRV-EN040)
Type: Normal Spell Card
Description: Remove from play, from your side of the field
or your
Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a
Dragon-Type Fusion
Monster Card, and Special Summon that Fusion Monster from
your Fusion Deck.
(This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon).
Has that traditional Polymerization feel to it, but with a
twist, huh?
Anyway, I'm going to be listing some support cards for this
Deck (I won't
list BEWD, because to have 3 copies of that card in this
deck is necessary,
as the Deck won't be running Hex-Sealed Fusions,
Cyber-Stein, or Fusion
subs), an tell you the reasons behind selecting them for the
deck. I'm
including the descriptions, for those who aren't familiar
with the cards or
their descriptions.
* Paladin of White Dragon (MFC-026, SKE-024 or DR1-EN081)
Level: 4
Attribute: Light
Type: Dragon/Ritual/Effect
ATK: 1900
DEF: 1200
Description: This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with
the Ritual Spell
Card, "White Dragon Ritual." You must also offer monsters
whose total Levels
equal 4 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand.
When this monster
attacks a face-down Defense Position monster, destroy the
face-down monster
with this card's effect. You can Tribute this card to
Special Summon 1
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand or Deck. ("Blue-Eyes
White Dragon"
cannot attack during that turn.)
Reason: The Blue-Eyes White Dragons in this Deck need to be
put on the field
or into the Graveyard, and this is one of the #1 cards to
put your Dragons
in the right place. Plus, you can revive Paladin after
Tributing him for
his own effect, and then Tribute him again to move another
BEWD to the
field. This is what I call Paladin abuse. Absolutely abusing
the hell out
of his effect
Name: Kaibaman (WC5-EN002)
Attribute: Light
Type: Warrior/Effect
ATK: 200
DEF: 700
Description: Tribute this card to Special Summon 1 "Blue
Eyes White Dragon"
from your hand.
Reason: Many people may find this a poor choice, but I
don't. He can get a
Blue-Eyes onto the field, which is what this deck needs.
Plus, if you feel
like making risky moves, you can combine him with
Reinforcement of the Army
and The Warrior Returning Alive to absolutely abuse his
effect, as long as
there are BEWDs in your hand.
Name: Dimension Fusion (IOC-094 or DR2-EN095)
Type: Normal Spell Card
Description: Pay 2000 Life Points. Both players Special
Summon as many of
their removed from play monsters as possible.
Reason: Power up your attack force by Dimension Fusioning
your removed BEWDs
after they've been put through Dragon's Mirror. Also, you
can Dimension
Fusion them to bring out another Ultimate Dragon. Hey, two
uses in one!
Name: Return from the Different Dimension (EP1-EN008)
Type: Trap Card
Description: Pay half of your Life Points. Special Summon as
many of your
monsters as possible that have been removed from play on
your side of the
field. During the End Phase, remove from play all monsters
that were
Special Summoned by this effect.
Reason: Same reasons as Dimension Fusion, although this one
leans away from
adding 3 BEWDs to your attack force, and more towards
bringing out another
Ultimate Dragon, as the BEWDs will be removed again at the
end of the turn.
Can also counter your opponent's attacks on your Graveyard
(e.g. Soul
Release).
Name: White Dragon Ritual (MFC-027, SKE-025 or DR1-EN082)
Type: Ritual Spell Card
Description: This card is used to Ritual Summon "Paladin of
White Dragon".
You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal 4 or
more from the
field or your hand.
Reason: Pointless to use Paladin without this. 'Nuff said.
Name: Royal Decree (TP4-001, TP6-EN004, DB2-EN106 or
SD5-EN035)
Type: Continuous Trap Card
Description: As long as this card remains face-up on the
field, negate the
effects of all Trap Cards on the field except this card.
Reason: Protects your BEUDs from Sakuretsus, Widespreads,
etc. If you use
this, this is a good reason to use Dimension Fusion over
Return from the
Different Dimension.
There are other cards and combos which this deck could
utilize (The
so-called "noob" combo of Lord of D. and The Flute of
Summoning Dragon,
which is actually not a bad idea in this Deck). All it takes
is a little
thought and imagination. I'm not writing up a deck list for
this, as this
was just to give you all a basic idea of how a Dragon's
Mirror/BEUD deck
should work. If you're playing Traditional, you could also
use Painful
Choice (this is one of the best combos that you can make
with this deck).
You can email me at chaos_spawn_of_ikana@hotmail.com (I'd
like to see some
deck ideas based on the ideas I've listed here).
Peace out.
- Nick S.
