Subject: Defining Originality Rant at 4:00 AM-Requiemblues



I was browsing the Pojo.com forums when I looked at the deck topic section.MOST decks there were just CC decks with maybe 2-3 original THEME cards.Something that caught my eye was a "Original Deck".So I clicked on it and what did I see?A CC filled deck with cards like Sakuretsu armor x2 and Smashing ground x3.What made me laugh harder though was a Call of the Haunted x2 in the listing.I know there are some staples in this game, like Snatch Steal,Dark Hole, Torrential Tribute Etc. but please, PLEASE, don't call something original with alot of cards that make the game repetitive.I think we all know that a D.D. Assailant x3 is not original unless it was a total Different Dimension deck.

I saw an actual example of originality though.A Kozaky Beatdown.Pretty funny.

Dictionary definition of Originality:1: the ability to think and act independently 2: the quality of being new and original (not derived from something else)

If splashing a card that everyone and their friend uses is original, then call me a lunatic.Finding new combos and tricks to share with other duelists is what keeps this game evolving.Sure we'll have a specific CC list now, but in April we'll have a new banlist, and maybe even new boosters.I digress though, we really need to stop splashing 2-3 of a single card just because everyone else uses it.
