Subject: Staples by Dragon Gamer

Staple Cards

Part One of Three

Yo! Dragon Gamer here with a huge article about Staples and what people call them.

This is going into deep detail about these so called staple cards.

So we will let?s start out with some cards that people will automatically through into any deck.

Monsters
Exiled Force

Breaker the Magical Warrior

Sangan

Magician of Faith

D. D. Warrior Lady

Cyber Dragon

Morphing Jar

Tsukuyomi

Mystic Swordsman LV2

D. D. Assailant

Exiled Force- This is the first card on the list, it gives you a +1 advantage. This is a level four, warrior and a 1000 att/def.

Breaker the Magical Warrior- This monster gets a spell counter on it as soon as hits the field. So then you can destroy a m/t and as soon it?s summoned and you have the counter on it raises it?s att by 300. It?s chaos fuel, a spellcaster and four stars the only downside of him he couldn?t be any advantage Especially if he chains the card you break with his effect.

Sangan- A level three, 1000/600 and chaos food that searches for a monster with 1500 attack or less deserves to go into almost any deck as well as a +1 advantage. The only type of deck this wouldn?t go into is a 1600 and up monster based deck. To be honest with you this is the third card I always put into any deck.

Magician of Faith- She was once, twice, three times a lady back in the days of Black Luster Solider/ Tsukuyomi- Thousand eyes lock. She would bring back favorites such as Delinquent Dou, Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, and Some other things that your would use to go in for the kill. Now we see her as a chaos bringer, MST bringer backer, and cards that people would like to abuse the heck out of. She does give you automatically a +1 advantage.

D. D. Warrior Lady- Were you around when she was run in multiples of three, and each of her cost about $30? Well I was and that was when around before any of the Banned Lists. She was great but now she nowhere near as she once was. 1500/1600 Light and sometimes could be chaos food. She gets her +1 advantage from when she attacks a higher def position monster or when she gets attacked. Plus your opponent will get pissed off when he attacks with his Phoenix and you remove.

Cyber Dragon- Now we have come to the ridiculously expensive $35 dollar card that is supposed to be the GX version of Blue Eyes White Dragon. He is over abused, over used, and people will say he belongs in almost any deck but realistically he doesn?t. To me he is a waste of space and the only decks I run him in are Machine, Chaos, and complete control. When you special summon him he really hurts your hand. You lose one card when you summon him when really we could much rather have better cards. Plus you know he will never be limited because of the Fusions between him. Konami released him to early and they didn?t know how abused he would become.

Morphing Jar- Why is he called morphing jar? Well he morphs your hand into something new I guess but they could have come up with a better name such as Jar of Replenish. Anyways when Konami released him in the Tournament Pack he was a very very expensive card. And he well should be. Now he should be at least in Ultra Rare in DB2 because he gives you +5 but he also gives you at least ?5 because your opponent gets 5 horrible cards that could screw you in the butt. This gives creatures that remove monsters from play is almost a staple in that aspect.

Tsukuyomi- This is one versatile monster that is the best spirit monster in the current format. She flips down any of your flip effects and this is when the token restrict lock came into play. Tsukuyomi, well she can destroy any monster with 1000 defense or less so if your opponent is playing Soul Control this is one of their worst enemies. What can stand up to a 2400 attacker? Umm Tsukuyomi can.

Mystic Swordsman LV2- Annoying flip effect monsters, any graveyard result of battle deaths, and spirit reapers have met their match. This is a very great control card but the only problem is unless you have a facedown m/t he is prone to die during your opponents turn.

D. D. Assailant- This is going to be a perfect example of what D. D. Warrior Lady was like. First she was underlooked and then she became an interesting card that now is $30 a card. Anyways, he is a card that is a great defensive monster because since anything that destroys him as a result of battle will automatically be removed from play. He is like a worse version of DDWL because you don?t have the option but if you had the option then he would also become limited to one like her sister. So any female D. D. monster will first be really expensive, then will become limited to one and then become reprinted and eventually less expensive is what I am saying because history repeats its self. And look at other cards that follow this example.

The Three out of the 6 Monarchs (that there should be)- So we have Three very good monarchs and then we have one good one. They all have different attributes, the same att/def but they do have very different but good effects. Zaborg was the first and he became the monster to start it off. He instantly gives you a +1 advantage. The Mobius comes in and he gives you a +2 advantage (well up to two). Then my favorite looking one as ultimate version comes in Thestalos. He gives you, I think, a +1.5 advantage instantly because it is one monster most of the times plus a little extra if he does hit a monster. They all have their advantages but until they come out with the attribute of Wind and Darkness we cannot rank them properly. Thestalos/Granmarg is great early game while the others are great midgame. (note if you torrential/bottomless any of them their effect does go off because the only thing that stops monsters from being successfully summoned is horn of heaven/solem judgment)

Dragon Gamer out.
