Subject: How to play Strategy for Beginners - Oskar Eng

A lot of new players are making misstakes that will cost them the game, so I

will give all you new players a little guidance.

Part One, Staples:

There are cards called staples, most of them are played in most decks.
Staples are cards that has a potential of giving a huge card advantage without any large requirements.
These cards are often called Staples:

Heavy Storm (1 for a max. of 5)
Mystical Space Typhoon (1 for 1, but a staple anyway) Mirror Force (1 for a max. of 5) Torrential Tribute (1 for a max. of 5)

Of course, there are a lot more good cards out there, but these are the most

played ones.

Part Two, Playing Strategies:

It is often an easy thing recognise a new player, because of his/her way of playing. A new player often likes to play cards like Torrential Tribute as fast as they can, just to destroy one single monster. Try not to do this, instead, way for your opponent to summon a whole bunch of monsters, then use

it. That means you may have lost a couple of life-points, but have destroyed

maybe 4-5 monsters just by sacrificing some life-points.

The most important thing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game is "Card Advantage". Card advantage means how many cards you and your opponent has.
Using mass destruction cards like Heavy Storm and Mirror Force at the right moment will give you card advantage. That means, giving you more cards than your oppponent, that way you will have more possibillities in your hand or on the field.

Part Three, What Monsters to play:

A new player likes the cards seen on the animé, that is not good. The cards there are often Normal Monsters, and they are pretty much useless. If you are new, try to use all the pretty good effect monsters you have instead of those cool normal monsters.

That's it.
