Trading Card Game Tips from fans
From:
Daniel P. Bollen [mailto:DPBollen@Adelphia.net]
Hey pojoers, this is my second CCG tip. I will try and continue to send in deck ideas and tips.
Now, there are some cards that you get out of packs that seem to be useless, but come with good intention. Now some of these cards I have seen are good, but don't work well against every deck. I am going to unmask some of those cards and show you guys their true potential.
1. "Insect Barrier" originally came out in the Pharaoh's Servant packs. The first time I got one I immediately detested the card because insects were not that playable. But Now, insects have a chance. With the arrival of Doom Dozer, Saber Beetle, Anteatereatingant, and Chainsaw Insect, these bugs pack a punch. That is why you should put Insect Barrier in your side deck, in case you find yourself in the face of a two-ton chainsaw hurling bug.
2. "Earthquake" is a card I'm not exactly sure about where it came from, but I know it can be found in Dark Revelation 2. Earthquake is a perfect card against those cards that go into defense mode after they attack, like Indomitable Fighter Lei Lei, Goblin Attack Force, and Giant Orc. Even if your opponent is pulling off Skill Drain to keep these guys in attack position this card is still good. Also, its another good card against Chainsaw Insect. Also, you can chain the card "Tragedy" to it.
3. "Hunter with 7 Weapons" came out in the Legacy of Darkness packs. If you know what your opponent is using, then he is a pretty good card, but only then. With 1000 attack points this guy is pretty weak. But on the second round with your opponent using a Warrior deck that has mostly earth monster this guy could become a three-starred 2000 attack point beatstick that can still fit under gravity bind.
4. "System Down" is a more recent card that came out in Cybernetic Revolution. It is the bane of all Cyber Dragons, 'Roids' and Ancient Gears. At the cost of 1000 life points your opponent's almost unstoppable Cyber End Dragon gets a slap in the face with the removed-from-play zone. And your opponent can't use Premature Burial on the Cyber Dragon that was used in the fusion summon either, because that will be removed from play too.
5. "Array of Revealing Light" is a card that also came out of Legacy of Darkness. It can be used to prolong defeats of your enemy, however this card is only useful if your opponent has a different type of deck (dragon, warrior, spellcaster etc..) than you. With this card you have a chance to activate your "Smashing Ground" before your opponent's monster has a chance to deal any damage.
6. "Mind Crush + Dark Designator" is a combo that is O-so-special on the second round. Set Mind Crush and on your next turn activate Dark Designator to choose the card that seems to be the main power in your opponent's deck. The card goes into your opponent's hand where it is sent to the graveyard by Mind Crush. The worst problem with this card is that if your opponent negates Mind Crush, you have given them a powerful card to use against you. There is a bonus to this effect as well. You get a free look at your opponent's hand.
Well that's all I have to saw for now, but I'll be back. -DnDDmDb - Daniel Bollen
