I don't know about you, but I'd like to see Cyber
Dragons used in Cyber Dragon Decks, not as over-used
cookie-cutter tech! Zane Truesdale happens to be my
favourite character from Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and I've tried
to build a character deck like his before. But since
we have only a few of his main cards right now, it's
rather hard. However, two sets from now (the one
after Enemy of Justice), Power of the Duelist will
be released. And along with it, Zane's ultimate
monster.
Now what the h*ll is this guy talking about!? We
already ave it, it's Cyber End Dragon! That may be
one of his ultimate monsters, but the true Zane fans
know that it's not. Chimeratech Over Dragon will be
released along with its fusion card Overload Fusion
in Power of the Duelist. And I want it, Chimeratech
Over Dragon is the best perk to running a Cyber
Dragon Deck. Here it is:
Chimeratech Over Dragon
Attribute: Dark
Type: Machine/Fusion/Effect
Level: 9
ATK: ?
DEF: ?
Text: "Cyber Dragon" + "1 or more Machine-Type
Monsters"
This card cannot be Special Summoned except by
Fusion Summon. When this card is Special Summoned
successfully, send all cards except this card from
your side of the field to the Graveyard. This card's
original ATK and DEF become the number of Fusion
Material monsters used to Fusion Summon this card x
800 points. This card can attack a number of times
equal to the number of Fusion Material monsters used
to Fusion Summon this card.
Cool huh? This would be rather difficult to pull off
as deadly as Zane did if that was it, but it's not.
Zane used Overload Fusion to Special Summon this
guy. While it doesn't mention him in its text, it
clearly is made for him, here it is too:
Overload Fusion
Type: Normal Spell
Text: Remove from play, from your side of the field
or your Graveyard, Fusion Material monsters that are
listed on a Dark Machine-Type Fusion Monster Card,
and Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your
Fusion Deck (This Special Summon is treated as a
Fusion Summon).
Wow! Told 'ya, it doesn't specifically say "Chimeratech
Over Dragon". It works the same way as Dragon's
Mirror, but only for 2 monsters: Chimeratech Over
Dragon, and unintentionally Gatling Dragon.
Zane used this card as a last resort. He had nothing
but Cyber Dragon on his field (or Proto, I can't
remember), he played this, Fusion Cyber Dragon with
like 5 other Machines in his Graveyard and unleashed
a wave of around 6 attacks with Chimeratech Over
Dragon at 4800 Attack Points! Is that one of the
ways on your list of how you want to finish an
opponent off in your Yu-Gi-Oh career or what?
Now, I can't wait for all of Zane's cards to come
out before at least attempting to make his deck.
Now, these cards are not official yet, and may not
be as they might be too powerful. But let's just
say, for instance, that the spoilers are right. Here
would be a decklist of Zane's deck:
Monsters x17
Cyber Barrier Dragon
Cyber Dragon x3
Cyber Giraffe
Cyber Laser Dragon
Cyber Phoenix
Heavy Mech Support Platform x3
Kaiser Glider
Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite

Chimeratech Over Dragon
Cyber End Dragon
Cyber Twin Dragon
Magic Cards x16
Creature Swap
De-Fusion
Different Dimension Capsule x2
Future Fusion*
Heavy Storm
Limiter Removal
Machine Duplication
Monster Reborn
Mystical Space Typhoon
Overload Fusion
Photon Generator Unit

Call of the Haunted
Rare Metalmorph x2
Ray of Hope*
Trap Jammer x2
I'd like to thank Wikipedia.org for the decklist, it
has one for all of the characters of Yu-Gi-Oh! Go
check it out now...Now that you're back, you see
that Wikipedia doesn't list whether there are
doubles or not, so I had to guess. I saw Zane use
Power Bond twice in one duel, very far apart,
without using Magician of Faith or anything else to
get the first back, so I figure he has 2.
Anyway, the * means the card isn't explained yet or
isn't used by Zane. Future Fusion is cool too, and
it also comes out in Power of the Duelist. Here it
is:
Future Fusion
Type: Continuous Magic Card
Text: Select 1 Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck.
Send Fusion Material Monsters for the selected
Fusion Monster from your deck to your Graveyard. At
your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation,
Special Summon that Fusion Monster to your side of
th field (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion
Summon). When this card is destroyed or removed from
the field, the monster is destroyed. If the monster
is destroyed or removed from the field, this card is
also destroyed.
Also cool, Zane uses this to Special Summon Cyber
End Dragon after returning all 3 Cyber Dragons from
his Graveyard to his deck with Cybernetic Fusion
Support. Unfortunately, that doesn't come out in
Power of the Duelist as far as I know. So I subbed
in Ray of Hope for this combo, it'll do for now.
Not too shabby these new cards eh? Since it's
treated as a Fusion Summon, if the card makes it to
the 2nd Standby Phase and gets the monster out
before it's destroyed you can revive the monster
because it was properly Fusion Summoned. Unless it's
Chimeratech Over Dragon or another Fusion Monster
that can't be brought back (like Dark Paladin). But
aside from that, you get a practically free Fusion
Monster in 2 turns because you send the monsters
from your deck to the Graveyard.
This is the kind of support Fusion Decks need, more
free fusions. And with a little protection (Curse of
Royal, Judgement of Anubis, and Magic Reflector help
with this), you could bust out that Cyber End Dragon
and beat on the opponent by your 3rd turn. The
decklist above is using as many of Zane's cards as
possible (that exist anyway), I wouldn't recommend
using Metalizing Parasite - Lunatite or Kaiser
Glider in your version.
This Zane Deck is terribly unfocussed, but there are
a few ways you could go. You could use the Machine
Duplication with Heavy Mech Support Platform way to
make your Cyber Dragons almost invincible. You could
dust off old copies of Ray of Hope and Curse of
Royal to keep using Future Fusion and bust out those
Cyber Twin and End Dragons repeatedly, especially
since Pot of Avarice is just asking to be abused
with Future Fusion in a deck like this. You could
even go Traditional and combine Overload Fusion with
Painful Choice and bust out a 5600 or 6400 ATK
Chimeratech Over Dragon with 7 or 8 attacks every
single duel! Thank you for reading this article.
