Subject: VW-Exodia Mill Deck - Cameron
In the last batch of Tips a guy called Adam Culp
came up with an idea. Use VW-Tiger Catapult with
Guard Penalty to create infinite Draw Power. I truly
think he has found the potential of Guard Penalty, I
thought I did when I created Clown Control Penalty
but I was wrong. As a tribute to his efforts (or
fortunate accident, either way), I have made a deck
based on this concept. Behold, VW-Exodia Mill:
Monters x20
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive x3
Emissary of the Afterlife x3
Exodia the Forbidden One
Left Arm of the Forbidden One
Left Leg of the Forbidden One
Magician of Faith
Right Arm of the Forbidden One
Right Leg of the Forbidden One
Sangan
V-Tiger Jet x3
W-Wing Catapult x3
Fusion Monsters
VW-Tiger Catapult x3
Magic Cards x16
Dark Factory of Mass Production x3
Frontline Base x3
Graceful Charity
Guard Penalty x3
Heavy Storm
Monster Reincarnation
Mystical Space Typhoon
Nobleman of Crossout
Pot of Avarice
Premature Burial
Trap Cards x4
Call of the Haunted
Mirror Force
Ring of Destruction
Torrential Tribute
Unfortunately Adam missed one little detail in his
tip, VW can't use its effect on itself. Not very
important, the opponent is bound to have a monster
on the field some time, it'll just be harder to use
against a Spirit Deck. Anyway, just as Adam
suggested, this deck mills through itself with the
above combo in the hopes of getting all 5 pieces of
Exodia in hand for an instant win. The problem with
this is that it takes over 5 cards to set up, V, W,
2 or more Guard Penalties, and a card to discard.
Since we're running 3 of each and a full set of
Dekoichis, this shouldn't take long to set up.
Since Frontline Base helps get VW out in one turn, I
put 3 in because the others that become dead weight
can be discarded with its effect. Since getting all
3 Guard Penalties at once might take too long, I
included cards so that you really only need to wait
for 2. Exodia pieces (excluding the head) are Level
2 Normal Monsters, and are dead weight unless all 5
pieces are in your hand. Throw 'em away! Dark
Factory of Mass Production will return double your
investment and allow you to get by on just 2 Guard
Penalties until you can mill into and activate the
last one. 3 Dark Factories are included in this
deck, but remember not to discard more than 2 Exodia
pieces and don't discard 'em again after the third
Dark Factory has been activated.
Pot of Avarice is awesome in this deck. If there's
nothing in your Graveyard because you drew it in the
opening hand, it's not a complete waste of a card.
You have 2 options over the usual cookie-cutter deck
sporting the ORA (One Random Avarice). Instead of
waiting for 5 monsters to hit the dirt, you can
either:
1. Discard it to get your combo started, or...
2. Discard 5 or more monsters and use it!
The cool thing is that if you absolutely HAVE to
discard all of the Exodia pieces to keep the combo
going, this thing can shuffle all 5 of them back
into your deck for you to wither draw into over the
next 5 turns or mill into NOW! Pot of Avarice also
doubles as a way to keep you from decking out if you
go a little overboard with the milling and the
opponent chains Mind Crush or some card to kill your
strategy. You don't want to deck yourself out, and
Pot of Avarice gives you a second chance. Finally
Monster Reincarnation is a more direct way of
getting Exodia's head back into your hand seeing as
it's the only Effect Monster of the whole group.
Hope you all like this deck.
