Trading Card Game Tips from fans

August 2007

Sheild Crushing (America's fave pastime) - Mark

I’m sure you’ve seen the new ban list on yugioh-card.com .  I’m writing this article in a post-September 1st tense, so this will be about Shield Crush during the new list. I wouldn’t do it otherwise because it’d become old news the instant August ends.

With Fissure, Snipe Hunter and Smashing Ground at 1 each, and Nobleman of Crossout now at two, monster destruction has become much more precious, in this new format, which involves battling much more than the previous few. Facedown monsters are mainly separated from the face up ones when it comes to Smashing, Fissure, and Nobleman. The only playable cards that can achieve this versatile crossover are the limited and risky Snipe Hunter and the single use Raigeki Break.

Now entering the ring (which also got banned. Yay! I never had one!) is Syrus’s Shield Crush, letting you destroy any defense-position card. We’ll need to be killing off Spies, Reapers, and Marshmallons before they become face up, and we can even destroy others with it. Although it may backfire when Crushing Troopers and Sangans, it makes a nifty combo when used in conjunction with Book of Moon and Enemy Controller (which can be used in 3’s), and even against the now-running Apprentice Magician Decks to take out their Seers and MoF’s while you see them coming. For instance: Battle Phase  à destroy Apprentice Magician à End Phase à Use Shield Crush on the new monster.

Will Shield Crush be the new Card Trooper? A card like this in a beatdown-oriented environment can take the foe by surprise before they can set up their strategy. The last format was all control, but this one comes down to swarming, beatdown, or combo – nothing else. This card will easily disrupt two of them.

I’m currently looking for people who want me to fix up their decks. If it is not in the new format, I’ll convert it too! The price for one fix is 3.95, two, you get a discount, 6.50. To convert it’ll be a 1.75 charge.  Just kidding.

You wish.

Also, if you want, I can email you all of my articles (The Innovation ones and up) or just a few.
