Trading Card Game Tips from fans
August 2007
Round 2: One More Spell Striker Combo -
Shadow Phoenix
Hey, Shadow Phoenix here again
with one more combo. You
probably remember me from my
first Spell Striker tips. Well,
I'm back with another tip! (No,
I am NOT some guy that will talk
about Striker for the rest of my
life. I just remembered some
tips I forgot to put in the
original tip bundle. Besides, I
will talk about other combos as
well later.) This first one is
about a REALLY old card +
Striker. This is my last Striker
tip, I swear as of August 23,
2007 (That was the date I
started this tip. I had to stop
and read some response e-mail! )
:
Spell Striker
EARTH [Warrior / Effect] Level 3 ATK: 600 / DEF: 200 "This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard from play. This card can attack your opponent's Life Points directly. Battle Damage to this card's controller from a battle involving this card becomes 0."
You remember this guy,
right? He has infinite
combos (I counted up to 33
in 1 day, but there are
probably many more), but
this is the last
one I will send in to
Pojo.com or anyone. Now, for
the other card:
Ring of Magnetism
SPELL
"This
card can only be equipped to
your own monster. The
monster equipped with this
card decreases its ATK and
DEF by 500 points. In
addition, all the monsters
on your opponent's side of
the field must attack the
monster equipped with this
card when they attack."
For some reason, I can't
find many people with this
card anymore. Only 1 person
has e-mailed me with even a
mention of it! Granted, in
this metagame, it is seen as
terrible, but there ARE uses
for this card. Most people
originally bought this in
Metal Raiders, when it could
technically
be Equipped to your
opponents monsters, forcing
them to attack themselves.
Obviously, they fixed that,
but the edited card is still
useful. When used with my
original Striker/HOCW combo,
it forces your opponent to
only attack your invincible
Striker. Plus, because
Striker is a Special Summon,
you can set up another
strategy with your Normal
Summon. Two kind individuals
(Matthew and Laurie) also
pointed out that the OCG
card Mist Body could replace
HOCW, but without the ATK
restrictions or targeting
protection. I used HOCW for
3 reasons:
1: It just seemed
tailor-made for Striker.
2: It can't just be
splashed. This keeps away
leeches (people that
assimilate all good decks
without thinking).
3: It is very underrated. I
wanted to give it a day in
the spotlight. : )
That's all I will be saying
for now. My next e-mail will
be on one of my favorite
underrated cards: The Wicked
Eraser! The Pojo people
responsible for putting
these tips in the right
place should add this to a
bundle of other Yu-gi-oh tip
e-mails whenever they want!
If you have any comments,
e-mail me at
archieiy@msn.com.
Flames graciously
accepted. Each flame I
get, is converted into my
undying passion for the game
of Yu-gi-oh!
