Deck Building Advice
The first thing you must do when
building a new deck is to decide what
you want the deck to do.
What you want the deck to do?
You have to Stop and Think about what
you are trying to accomplish. Do you
want the deck to be a beatdown deck? Do
you want it to be a Elemental Hero Deck?
Think about what you really want it to
do, before you start building it! Here
are some examples of things you can
design it to do…
Get Control (of your opponents
monsters), Change Card Position , Cancel
Out Effect, Spell Counter, Gamble,
Increase Attack/Defense, Decrease
Attack/Defense, Pierce Through Defense
Position Monsters, Special Summon, Can
Not Perform Normal Summon, Flip Effect,
Toon Monsters, Spirit Monsters, Union
Monsters, LV Monsters
Elemental Hero Monsters, Tokens, Destroy
Your Opponent’s Monsters
Destroy Spell/Trap Cards, Hand
Destruction
Deck Destruction, Remove Card From Play,
Increase Draw, Search Deck
Recover Cards From Graveyard, Return
Card
Recover Life Points, Reduce Life Points
Another good bit of advice is to look
carefully at the number of cards
available to you for your chosen type or
attribute. For instance, if you want to
make a Fire Deck, there are not that
many Fire Monsters to choose from.
However if you are going for a Earth or
Dark Deck, then you have many to choose
from.
Also take a look at the types of
monsters that you want, there are few
Thunder Types, but many Warrior Types.
Above all else, Stop and Think! It’s not
hard to build a good deck, all you need
is time and cards.
I will add more to this article if it
receives good reviews. –Megaverse
