Trading Card Game Tips from fans
July 2007 There’s a tiny little card out there called Bad Reaction to Simochi, an old continuous Trap Card. Whenever the opponent gets a Life Point increase, it is lost instead.
I see this as an ASTOUNDING card!!! While some people will say it is poor because there’s barely any cards in competitive play with LP recovery, I say it’s killer because of how much free LP you can give away. Bad Reaction to Simochi (What IS that!?) is an incredibly broken card. It isn’t banned because it’s so limited that it’s useless, but only in it’s own deck, a very dedicated one, can it do any good… And in that case, it owns all. The whole point of it is to use those cards that constantly heal the opponent. Let’s look at some cards:
Snatch Steal becomes a controller that also smacks the opponent for 1000 points, making it 2000 LP better than Snatch Steal previously. Wooooooowwwww…… Could I ASK for more!?
Yes I could. You see, Rain of Mercy, the Spell that gives each player….. Uh… Mercy… IN 1000 POINTS! With Simochi out, this generates a HUGE 2000 Point advantage! And without Simochi, it can still do something. Another ace for the deck, but let’s keep at 1.
Upstart Goblin should be played at two. A free card and 1000 points of now-Burn? Works for me!!!!
The Eye of Truth, I’m sure you know, is a continuous Trap Card that reveals your opponent’s hand…. At the cost of 1000 mending Points per Standby Phase for them. Nobody ever liked this card, but 1000 burn and constant hand revealing!? SIGN ME UP FOR 3!!!!!!! This is a staple in Simochi Death!
The Paths of Destiny is a Trap card I’m sure most people never even heard of!!! Well, both players flip coins. Heads means gain 2000 Life Points, whilst Tails means lose 2000. Well, in this deck, the opponent will either lose 2000 or gain, I mean lose, 2000. That way, you’ll either both lose 2000, thanks to Simochi, or you’ll gain 2000, meaning you just went ahead an astounding FOUR THOUSAND POINTS!!!!
So, you get the point. Simochi Death is all about using Bad Reaction to Simochi to make the downsides of killer Cards into killer Cards themselves. This was made in my Spirit Caller game for the Nintendo DS, so I am unsure of how good it can do. Here’s a rough list… You know I don’t give whole.
Sample Monsters
A Cat of ill Omen (Simochi search) Lava Golem (burn) Morphing Jar (get heal cards faster) Sangan (Search Mask, Cat) Reflect Bounder (Burn) Spirit Reaper (Much-Needed Stall) Stealth Bird (Burn) Mask of Darkness x2 (Recycle Simochi)
Sample Spells
Heavy Storm Mystical Space Typhoon Lightning Vortex (Use useless cards if no Simochi) Rain of Mercy Scapegoat (Stall) Snatch Steal Level Limit – Area B (Stall) Messenger of Peace (Stall) Upstart Goblin x2
Sample Traps
Bad Reaction to Simochi (DER!!!) x3 Call of the Haunted (Stall) Mirror Force (Defense, because you’re too weak for fighting) Ring of Destruction (Stalls, Burns the last of the enemy away) The Paths of Destiny Gravity Bind (Stall)
And there you go, my creation, Simochi Death, it might be a tier 1 Deck, but I’m not gonna make it. Lava Golem, Upstart Goblin, Ring, and Mirror Force are way out of my budget. It could be tier one, I don’t know.
You can reach me at destinyhero@verizon.net for anything. Just please send all complaints and arguments to my brother.
