How To Win Duels - Derek Semeraro
The target
audience of this article is Novice to Intermediate.
It will teach to reader strategies on how to win
duels.
1) Memorize what each card does. It's not as hard as
it seems. Memorize the stats,
level, and effect of the card. So, you know what you
are up against.
2) Play conservatively. Don't play all of your cards
at once,
otherwise they might be gone too fast. Keep your
magic and trap
card zone to a limit of 2 or less cards unless the
opponent's
Heavy Storm has already been used. Keep your monster
count 2
or less, unless the opponent's Torrential Tribute
has already
been used.
3) Bluff correctly or don't at all. Only set a non-quickplay
magic card
if you have no better cards to set and there are no
cards
in your magic and trap zone. Also, beware of bluffs.
Check the opponent's graveyard. If you see that they
had already used a Mirror Force, then you know, they
aren't going to use it again.
4) Think about the future? How will you knock out
your
opponent's life points to zero. Try to use your
cards
to prepare for that moment.
5) Focus on the big things. Not the little things.
If you put all your focus on one little thing, or
relying
on a card, without it, you will lose.
6) Overall, apply your everyday logic into the game
and you
should win. Logic such as, I shouldn't set Scapegoat
if I
have 2 or more monsters, because, then it wouldn't
work.
Think about your moves. Just because an option is
there,
does not mean it is good.
