June 2007 - The Forgotten Chaos Monsters-By GeneralZorpa

Well I figured it was time to write again. I got no hate mail for my Monarch article, so I assume that's a good thing.

What I am going to talk about today are the Elemental Chaos Monsters. They came out in random sets from after IOC and have in almost no way impacted the metagame at all. They all have differing effects and stats, but all remove at least one monster of their attribute from the game in order to be Special Summoned to the fieldHere is a list of those that I can recall.

Gigantes-1900 ATK Destroys all s/t when destroyed
Silpheed-1700 ATK Discard one card from opponent's hand when destroyed
Fenrir-1400 ATK Remove TWO water monsters Opponent skips draw phase when it destroys a monster
Inferno-1100 ATK 1900 DEF Inflict 1500 every time it destroys a monster
Aqua Spirit-1600 ATK Switch a monster on your opponent's field during their standbye phase
Rock Spirit-1700 ATK Gains 300(?) ATK when it attacks
Spirit of Flames-1700 ATK Gains 300(?) ATK when attacked
Garuda the Wind Spirit-1600 Switch a monster on your opponent's field during their end phase

These are technically free summons like Cyber Dragon and the new Chaos/Sky Scourge Monsters. However they require someone to play them in an elemental deck. However How many EARTH attribute monsters are being played in most decks?
Wildheart
Card Trooper
...
The list goes on and on, the standard Monarch build packs WATER and FIRE monsters as well as a few wind. There are new Elemental Chaos monsters in the next set,
and they can be expected to hit the tourney scene with some force, so expect them to be a major force in new Elemental Chaos decks. They do combine at odds attributes, but they will tend to work very well together. Wind and Earth Toolbox will be very powerful.

If you want to email me, do so at raptor1k@hotmail.com and feel free to criticize as well as correct, debate and praise me. If you have a deck, I would gladly offer insight, and if you have any ideas for decks, lemme know. I just might make an article of it!
