November 2007

armed impact --pwii

This is a Cyberdark deck utilizing the armed dragons. This deck can be changed by taking out lv 7 & 10 and adding mill and BEWD to focus more on the Cyberdark monsters. Or it can drop the Cyberdarks, overload fusion, union formation, and hunter dragon and then adding 3 dragons mirror 3 troop dragon, 3 five-headed dragon, 3 luster dragon #2, and another dragons rage to make it dragon beatdown. Or you can just play with this version. Enjoy!

Monsters x 22
Armed dragon lv 3 x2
Armed dragon lv 5 x3
Armed dragon lv 7 x2
Armed dragon lv 10 x2
Twin-headed bemoth
Cyberdark keel x2
Cyberdark edge x2
Cyberdark horn x2
Masked dragon x3
Hunter dragon x3

THE STRATEGY

     Basically beatdown with combos.

THE MATCHUPS

This deck is graveyard dependent, so D.D. decks will crush this. I think this would do good against monarchs though.

THE MONSTERS

AD lv 3 is weak, so I advise summoning it via masked dragon but hey, you can also use level up!.  The Lv 5 version is nice control card because it can be SP summon easily and has 2400 attack.  As for its effect, having to destroy an AD lv 7 to defeat a stronger monster is just paaaathetic.  Lv 7 is pretty decent and can nix all recruiter monsters when you discard masked dragon.  Lv 10 can turn any card in your hand into a raigeki (for those of you who don’t play traditional format, it’s a spell card that destroys all your opponent’s monsters.) and it has stats worthy of BEWD.  Now for the other dragons. Hunter dragon lets the Cyberdark monsters kill the ever-popular monarchs. Twin-headed bemoth is great for tributing and stalling.  Cyberdark keel, horn and edge are machines (?) that can be equipped with a lv 3 dragon from your grave and gain their attk (!) one of them has the piercing effect, one of them can attack directly by cutting it’s attack in half, and one does 300 damage when it destroys a monster!  Masked dragon combos great with AD lv3: when MD bites the dust, SP summon AD and on your next turn, poof it has twice as much attack!

THE SPELLS

Instead of MST, this deck packs stamping destruction.  Let’s compare.
If you run MST pros and cons:
Pros
a)      Can activate during your opponent’s turn
b)      Keeps your opponent guessing at what kind of deck you got
Cons
a)      Limited
b)      Doesn’t do extra damage
c)      Doesn’t fit in with the theme
All in all, if you did have a dragon on the field, they’ve pretty much guessed that your running some kind of dragon deck.  And if you really like destroying during your opponent’s turn, run dust tornado.  And since your playing a ton of dragons, why not run it?  Getting back to earth, Mountain can mean being able to K.O. other recruiters and keeping opposing monarchs and jinzo off your back when AD lv 5 is ready to rumble.  Burial and Confistacation are staples, while level up! means getting out AD LV 5 on your first turn.  Level modulation can get back AD lv 10, but at a high cost.  With all the Cyberdark monsters, why not run their fusion form: Cyberdark dragon.  He can equip any dragon from the grave, so don’t give up when AD lv 10 hits the grave.  He also gets 100 attack for every monster in your graveyard.  The best thing is, overload fusion can fuse him when all your CD monsters are in the graveyard!  So save it until a powerful monster dies.

THE TRAPS

This deck introduces a combo I think will work: Union formation and Cyberdark __. My theory is you can resurrect ad lv 3 and if the Cyberdark monster doesn’t die, during the end phase of your opponent’s turn you can activate union formation, sp summoning lv 3 so it’ll level up on your turn.
Mirror force and Sakuretsu armor are good in an agro deck like this. Dragon’s rage will let you pierce with all your dragons. Call can revive lv 3 during your opponent’s end phase to level up.
