Trading Card Game Tips from fans

October 2007

strike of neos was very supportive so.... --pwii

This time, I’m going to try and challenge myself, I’m going to make a deck completely out of cards from STON: A samurai deck.

Monsters x19
The six samurai – Zanji x3
The six samurai – Irou x3
The six samurai – Yaichi x2
The six samurai – Yariza x2
The six samurai – Nisashi x2
Great shogun shien x2
Warlord of the six samurai x3
Shien’s footsoldier x2
Spells x12
Legendary ebon steed x3
Shien’s castle of mist x3
Card trader x2
Dark world dealings x2
Hero medal x2
Traps x9
Return of the six samurai x3
Swift samurai storm x3
Pulling the rug x3

This deck is a swarmer.  Period.

Only one of the six samurai is missing: Kamon.  Why, because nobody except people like me play face up S/T’s.  Zanji is my favorite; he just looks so cool.  You can attack a cyber dragon or monarch and choose to destroy another samurai instead, and then his effect will kill them.  Sweet.  Irou is probably the best, like mystic swordsman lv. 2 except way higher attack.  Yaichi is second best because of the free advantage.  Too bad he can’t attack if you use his effect.  Sigh.  Then he’d be number one.  Yariza can keep attacking when reaper’s on the field, but I recommend Zanji.  Could’ve done with more attack.  Nisashi can attack twice, really helping the pace of this deck, while Shien’s footsoldier searches out the weaker samurai; the choice one being Yaichi.  Too bad it didn’t have ‘The six samurai’ in its name, or it could’ve been used for protection.  Warlord is like cyber dragon except better.  Great shogun shien himself combos with warlord:  summon a samurai, then warlord, and then shien.
The steed serves mainly as protection while the castle boosts attack.  Card trader and dark world dealings get rid of dead cards.  I know that hero medal was made for E-hero decks, but the extra card is needed.
As for the traps, return of the six samurai usually revives a samurai for another’s protection; swift samurai storm works excellent with this deck because it helps hit fast and hard.  Pulling the rug takes out monarchs, gadgets, and a bunch of other stuff.

Just try to overextend as much as possible and have fun.
