Trading Card Game Tips from fans
April 2008
Always have been a fan of aggressive play so my best choice of deck would be a beatdown deck. It’s a bit on the old school side but does run a couple of Monarchs and Cyber Dragons as well. Here’s the list:
Monsters: (21)
Jinzo Mobius The Frost Monarch (2) Thestalos The Firestorm Monarch Cyber Dragon (2)
Slate Warrior (3) Bazoo The Soul Eater Exarion Universe (2) Reflect Bounder Treeborn Frog Spirit Reaper Exiled Force (2) DDWL Chiron The Mage Kycoo The Ghost Destroyer Sangan
Spells: (11)
Snatch Steal Nobleman Of Crossout United We Stand Mystical Space Typhoon Swords Of Revealing Light Premature Burial Brain Control Creature Swap Heavy Storm Lightning Vortex Enemy Controller
Traps: (9)
Ring Of Destruction Mirror Force Sakuretsu Armor (3) Call Of The Haunted Torrential Tribute Magic Cylinder Bottomless Trap Hole
Side Deck: (15)
Dark Ruler Ha Des Goblin Attack Force Cyber Dragon D.D Assailant Mystic Swordsman LV 2 Book Of Moon Mage Power Riryoku Tribute To The Doomed Twister (2) Mage Power Riryoku Raigeki Break Royal Command Royal Decree Widespread Ruin
Now the style of my deck is going to be a bit on the different side from a lot of the deck ideas on this site mainly because I live in Newfoundland so the type of decks and the cards I see differ a big deal. I tend to see a lot of Stall decks and Monarch decks. Outside of an all out attack, there is no particular strategy behind this deck, but for some reason is just clicks together nicely.
Key Cards:
Mobius The Frost Monarch: A big key card for me. When facing the stall decks or burn decks this card comes in handy to take out what’s normally preventing me from attacking (I.e: G-Bind, LLAB, Wall Of Revealing Light, etc) Other then the reason to take out stall cards, this is used to clear the back row of my opponent so I can go all out with other monsters without any sense of danger.
Exarion Universe: You might not think of this card as anything big but it wins me matches upon matches. Around here, Nimbles are everywhere and taking out one while this baby is jacked by United We Stand, causes some sour faces from my opponents side. Can’t forget the goats, which are in a lot of the decks I face. Exarion = Amazing goat control.
Treeborn Frog: The one card that is making me want to play a total Monarch build. Aside from Sangan, this guy is one of my favorites to sac off for a monster. For obvious reasons. =P
Enemy Controller: Excellent for guys who think that their Mobius is going to wreck my field. Chain to the summon of that bad boy, switch him to defense and now we got an excellent target for Exarion to run right over. Not to mention the countless times I have Sangan on the field against a beatstick on my opponents side. Get rid of Sangan, get an Exiled for facedown removal next turn , take their monster, sac that off for Mobius, take out 2 face down, and nail your opponent with a 2400 shot. Talk about a momentum swing!
Brain Control: I desperately need another one of these guys. Playing those with Monarchs is working amazing with this card for the obvious reason.
Overall I am being more and more impressed with what this deck can actually do. Decks that I shouldn’t normally be able to beat seem to cause less of a problem than I originally prepared for. Outside of that the ban list really hit hard as Breaker was a key part of removal plus a beatstick if needed. Chiron is the replacement for him, a sad one at that. I need a card that is going to work with this build and sub in for Chiron. Also should I keep Bazoo in? Excellent for running over Jinzo and Monarchs alike. There are 2 Exiled and a DDWL in for that though. Any comments or suggestions are gladly welcome.
