Underrated Deck Theme + Card Review-Crzydrvr
Hey guys! Back with another fun-filled episode for
you. I've got a
card review, plus a deck that you probably wouldn't
expect to see.
First, My co-writer from jolly old Britain John and
I will be
reviewing a popular card again:
Prime Material Dragon
Light
Level 6
ATK/2400 DEF/2000
[Dragon/Effect]
Any effect that would inflict damage to a player
instead increases
their life points by the same amount .When a card's
effect to destroy
a monster(s) on the field is activated, you can send
one card from
your hand to the Graveyard to negate its activation
and destroy the
card.
Traditional:2.75/5
Advanced:4/5
Crzydrvr- I like this card. It's
really got no use at all in
Traditional cuz we have better options, but Advanced
is a different
matter. Its effect to negate the destruction of a
monster is just
broken. That means no Sak, Smashing, Lightning, or
even Judgement
Dragon. No effects can lower your lifepoints, which
is good at times,
lousy at others cuz your opponent gets this effect
too. Overall a nice
card to have in your deck.
Traditional: 2.5/5 We've got better negating
options, and lifepoint
gain isn't a big thing.
Advanced: 4/5 Could be one of the best in the game
right now. An
honorary Monarch.
John-Hmm. what instantly pops to mind with this card
is that it's a direct negation of DAD's destruction
effect, if they target monsters. It also negates the
effect of judgment dragon if my brain serves me
right, or in other words, a Brill anti Meta card.
The one tribute it does slow the card down a bit,
but I suppose if you want to waste some resources
(or were in a real tight spot) you could foolish
burial it then bring it back with monster reborn,
but I think treeborn, sangan or disc commander would
be good tributes though.
Apart from that, it pops into my mind as an instant
burn disrupter, and for those of you that love to
annoy people in duels, you can create a nifty
infinite loop with this and "bad reaction to
simotchi", although in tourneys its illegal to
knowingly create an infinite loop, so watch out on
that one.
I doubt
your opponent would be dumb enough to activate
bottomless trap hole or sakuretsu armor (does anyone
use that over bottomless now?), so i suppose you
could use your treeborn frog or Disc Commander or
something as a tribute or a cost for the discard,
but its all pretty standard stuff.
Advanced: 4/5 its a good card, i love it, a great
anti meta card, but 1 tribute does slow it down a
bit, although i guess its a fairly splashable card.
Would be 5 if it was 4 or lower in level:(
Traditional: hmm, 3/5 lower because trad decks nuke
you in 1-5 turns usually, so its too slow here,
unless you foolish and reborn it.
Next up is our deck of today, one
I think people should start taking
seriously:
Reptilian Might x40
Monsters x21
x3 Flame Ruler
x3 The Trojan Horse
x3 Gene-Warped Warwolf
x2 Raging Earth
x2 Firestorm Prominence
x2 Granmarg the Rock Monarch
x2 Thestalos the Fire Monarch
x2 Cyber Dragon
x1 Sangan
x1 Mask of Darkness
Spells x11
x2 Monster Recovery
x2 Axe of Despair
x2
x1 Monster Reborn
x1 Premature Burial
x1 Pot of Avarice
x1 Heavy Storm
x1 Horn of the Unicorn
x1 Smashing Ground
Traps x8
x2 Dust Tornado
x1 Bottomless Trap Hole
x1 Mirror Force
x1 Sakuretsu Armor
x1 Waboku
x1 Negate Attack
x1 Magic Cylinder
This
deck is all about the reptiles. Level 7 2000 ATK
1500 DEF
monsters that were thought of as weak. When
destroyed in battle, these
little critters (that aren't that little) will
destroy all face-down
monsters and face-up monsters that aren't the same
attribute as the
card. That can make for some pretty tricked out
combos. You can
destroy it by ramming something, have it attacked
face-down etc. It's
incredible these guys aren't broken! Once they get
all the monsters
out, the field is empty, leaving room for a summon
after ramming it
into a Monarch, and completely throwing your
opponent off track.
Bye-bye DAD. Then next turn you can summon more and
more by simply
swarming. The Axes and Horn are to add ATK to the
deck and huge ATK
for a single monster, plus they revive themselves.
Thestalos and
Granmarg won't be destroyed by
the lizards with the same attribute,
plus Granmarg gets rid of a facedown. No traps,
spells or monsters can
escape this effect. Thestalos throws them even more
off track by
discarding a card from their hand while dealing
damage to the person's
lifepoints if
it's a monster. This deck type just might be the
next
tier 1 deck, you never know. If used correctly DAD,
Gladiators, or
even Lightsworns are completely at the mercy of this
deck (especially
Gladiators). I especially hope one of you tries out
this deck and
gives me some results to back up my claims.

all for now! Don't forget to cast your vote for your
