Makes Friends
(A Deadly Weapon)
– Mark
I’ve just been to a tournament. Sure, I
didn’t win; I hit Fourth Place. I was
testing out a brand new, and deadly, deck.
During the first match, which I won!, the
duel ended literally without a single turn
ending. And there was only minimal luck
going on there. My next quickest win was my
third turn.
However, I traded Burden of the Mighty,
Forest Guard Green Baboon, and Nova Summoner
for a FIRST EDITION, MINT CONDITION, MRD
MIRROR FORCE! It is now my most treasured
(not to mention expensive) card I
have (below Crystal Seer, of course). I
wouldn’t have gotten it if I hadn’t made
some friends in between rounds.
Every
time that you arrive at a tournament, make
sure to find a friend. I found a few there,
but one of them I never went up against (a
Naruto [er, Itachi] obsessed girl
running a build using the new Structure Deck
as it’s beginning). Did it help me to be
friends with them? Yes. Oh hell yeah, yes...
Doing this net me a card worth 300 bucks and
who knows – maybe it will do it for you,
too!
So,
first I became friends with them and decided
to see what their decks were. Next, I saw
what everyone had up for trade. In the third
round, my opponent (after kicking my arse
and bumping me all the way down to 4th
>:( ) offered me a huge deal of cards for
– you guessed it but maybe you didn’t –
Green Baffoon, Burden of the Mighty, and
Nova Summoner!... Well, I said that I
wouldn’t accept the trade until after the
tournament was over and I saw what everyone
else had to trade. WELL... Right before I
accepted the trade, strolling in was Caesar,
the best player in the state (I’m pretty
sure) here for the 4:00 tournament. He eyed
my Baboon, and after a looong debate, an
offer to trade for a DS (to another kid,
whose mom didn’t let him) I proceeded to
make the aforementioned trade, obtaining my
Mirror Force!
Now.... Here’s how I did it all.
Remember how I mentioned that I was making
friends? Well, you need to be emotional (so
you can use mind control in duels with them,
and it helps to be emotional. If you’re
quiet, and you suddenly start talking to
them using Mind Control techniques, it just
might be obvious that you’re bluffing....)
and actually make friends with people you
would actually like, o get more benifets.
For one thing, make friends with the
friendlies. Whenever I see somebody my age,
I make friends with them and then I’ll know
their deck. Also, it’s good to make a real
friendship with your “targets”, or that’s
just plain cruel, only making friends to
your advantage. Make sure that you help them
out.
This
“knowing their deck” thing is NOT the point.
An actual friendship with the person our
real goal; knowing what they use is just a
benefit in the package. For instance, if a
random person just happens to come by your
unsupervised, that person would obviously
steal it. However, if it’s a friend, they’re
more likely to return it, as you should do
as well. The next benefit of making friends
before/during a tournament is so that you’ll
watch out for each other.
All
other basic good things of having a friend
apply to the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournaments,
but you can also get added protection,
knowledge of opponents (either the friend or
anyone they know of), and, please refer to
this perfectly kickass proven real
situation, your trades will be better,
because you will know. And while it was luck
that Mr. Hasamirrorforce came in, but also
since my mission at that moment was
finding out everyone’s cards to trade, I
wasn’t in any kind of a rush to trade away
my crads.
A
Mirror Force was the only card I wanted, and
that desire has been more than fulfilled,
all thanks to the goal of making friends and
gathering information. Friends and
Information - solid defense, deadly
weapon.
I accept Deck
Fixes, and anything else for both Yu-Gi-Oh!
and Naruto. If you have a complaint, save it
for the battlefield. |
