Cards/Decks on the
Rise/Fall 2 (By Master Tricks)
Hello everyone, it's me Master Tricks here
again and I have a few articles for you to read
to start off the New Year. My treat for you guys
is another list of Rising and Falling cards and
decks. So here's the list of cards/decks falling
down off the stairs gradually:
Falling Cards
- Cyber Dragon - Cyber Dragon
has been our friend for quite some time now, but
I'm afraid that its use to us might be fading
away since it is useless when your either going
first in the duel or it's in your hand later in
the duel and you have some monsters on the field
already. Quite useless by then and its only use
then would be discarding ammo for Snipe Hunter,
Lightning Vortex, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, or
anything that requires a discard cost. Running 3
of these guys is not smart and is absolute
suicide, especially if you have 2 or 3 of them
in your opening hand. That would just suck balls
hard. Anyway, rumor has it that this guy will be
limited to one copy per deck soon on the next
banned list. Maybe only.
- Diamond Dude Turbo (D.D.T.)
- D.D.T. hasn't seen much play recently, but
should while it lasts since the chances of
Reasoning being limited or semi-limited is
pretty high on the next banned list. This is
possible.
- Burn/Stall Decks - This
deck will finally see its end soon because not
only there are many weaknesses to this deck such
as Mei Kou and Twister, but also the fact that
many of the burn materials and stalling cards
will be either banned, limited, or semi-limited,
complicating not only Burn/Stall, but possibly
many other deck ideas. The next banned list
could crush almost all the decks and we'll have
to go back to the stupid "Cookie Cutter Decks"
(I seriously have no idea why the decks are
called like this. It's just a silly name to me.)
- Exodia OTK - Unfortunately,
this deck has went from Rising to Falling during
the time between my last "Cards/Decks on the
Rise/Fall" list and this one. I witnessed that
Exodia OTK did see some play at tournaments and
regionals, but got crushed hard because of it
constant dependent use of Luck. Plus, stalling
cards for regular Exodia decks might be banned
soon. Maybe; Maybe not.
Next we can go on to the cards/decks on the
rise recently or most likely in the future:
- Veil of Darkness - On the
Yugioh! Card of the Day section on pojo.com, the
writers there responded to the card that you
should run Card Trader instead and isn't much
use to us as they gave it a low score for its
usage in the future decks, but I know the
perfect use for our secret rare friend here.
Simply these decks: Fiends, D-Heroes/Perfect
Circle, and the future dark decks to combo with
the new, deadly cards in the next pack,
Phantom Darkness. The dark cards in
Phantom Darkness requires the use of removing
Dark Monster cards in the graveyard from play
continuously or just Dark monsters in the
graveyard. Veil of Darkness can dump many Dark
Monsters into the graveyard at a pretty steady
pace. We'll see in the future.
- Eradicator Epidemic Virus -
With the new Dark monster cards coming out of
Phantom Darkness, this card will be more easily
and constantly played cards in decks revolving
around Dark monsters.
- Deck Devastation Virus -
This card almost fell into the Falling Cards
category, but thanks to the future release of
Phantom Darkness, this card will be more useful
than ever for any Dark decks involving the cards
in Phantom Darkness.
- Prometheus, King of Shadows/Other
FOTB Secret Rares - These guys will
support Phantom Darkness Dark Cards and supports
soon so these guys will finally see some play as
their prices will skyrocket. Possibly.
- D.D. Crow - We all know
this card is a very popular sidedeck card, but
for what reason and why its price increased? The
answer is because this guy can chain to cards
that affect/target cards in the graveyard and
can simply remove them. This guy can stop your
opponent's Treeborn Frog and/or D-Hero
Commander. Excellent Sidedeck card.
- Autonomous Action Unit -
Now, I bet you're asking why is this card even
on the "Rising Cards" list. The reason is
because soon many people will start playing
Perfect Circle decks because of the future
release of Phantom Darkness and the killer
Monarch structure deck soon. Even though the
price of 1500 life points may be a lot to just
special summon an opponent's monster, you can
special summon an opponent's Destiny Hero Disk
Commander and gain its effect of drawing two
cards. Now that's really sweet as could then
tribute it for a Monarch or other monster of
your choice. I see this as a playable card soon.
- Sacred Phoenix Control Deck
- This deck is really on the rise and I'm pretty
impressed about its ability to work very well in
almost any situation, except against Macro
Cosmos Decks. This deck can even crush the
insane Gladiator Beast deck since I witnessed
the duel between them at a local Hobby league.
Really good deck.
That's all for now folks and if you need
deck fixes, suggestions, questions, positive
responses to my article today, deck ideas to
share to let me right about in my future
articles (Only if I think they are playable
and/or good), or just want to chat about Yugioh
stuff, contact me at my Yugioh Kingdom at
pathoon@aol.com. See ya guys later! :)
