Fun deck and Rant
Hi Pojo fans,
It's me Old School Yugi, I've wrote
articles in the past and contributed my share of
tips. Today I'm going to discuss something else.
I've been reading the tips and rants sections and
something caught my attention, spam of deck fix
articles. I know that there are no rules that are
against them, but to me I find them completely
useless. It's great that we can help others, but I
don't want to read something from a vain duelist.
(Just e-mail the deck fix back to the sender)
The deck fixes also feel so generic. There has not
been a single new deck that has caught my attention,
I want to see some new decks or ideas posted here.
Since I also feel that I should post up a tip or
strategy, I'll post the following. Feel free to copy
and make any changes to it:
Convulsion of Nature x 3
Card Shuffle x 2
D.D. Designator x 3
Archfiend's Oath x 3
Back to Square One x 2
Drop Off x 3
Light Force Sword x 2
Conscription x 3
Deck Devastation Virus x 2
Crush Card Virus x 1
Mind Crush x 1
Trap Dustshoot x 1
The obvious theme here to an attempt at deck
control.
There's really no rules that I can find about Card
Shuffle and Convulsion of Nature. I assume that
since I can shuffle the face up deck as if it were
face down, I can probably look down and shuffle
until I see a card on top that would best fit the
situation. I'm not too sure about that ruling you
would have to consult a judge. Feel free to e-mail
me in case I am wrong. But the rest of the cards
control what your opponent may get for the next
turn. Conscription is for taking control of their
monsters. The monsters are for you to decide.
And there you have it, a deck that is somewhat new.
It doesn't win all the time, but its fun and
something different from those standard beatdowns.
What I want to start seeing is decks with completely
new strategies.
One last thing, I disagree with the idea of deck
fixes. The only people that can find out what wrong
with a deck is yourself. As soon as a
couple of cards are taken out, you can feel the
difference in your deck. The person who fixes the
deck don't know about your strategy, they just see
what they would want in a deck. As for me, I grab a
paper and pencil. Anytime I feel that something is
wrong, something needs improvement, I'm not drawing
enough, or there's dead weight in my hand, I write
down the card that is causing the problem and make
changes.
Sincerely,
Old School Yugi
