Trading Card Game Tips from fans
JUNE 2008
Hello, again, people. I've got yet another deck fix
for you. First, let's see the deck:
Hi I'm CMJ. I'm using a Dark Macro deck featuring
spellcasters for fun but I want to make it
competitive.
Well, this certainly is a new spin on Macro decks.
Throwing a few Spellcasters in the mix. You wish to
make this competitive, so I hate to tell you this,
but some of your combos have to go. First, the
cuts:
- 1 D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master
- 1 Banisher of the Radiance
- 1 Bazoo the Soul-Eater
- 2 Apprentice Magician
- 1 Crystal Seer
- 1 Old Vindictive Magician
- 1 Nobleman of Crossout
- 1 Dark Core
- 1 Eradicator Epidemic Virus
I cut 10 cards from the deck. D.D.M. was cut because
you don't really need it. 1 Banisher of the Radiance
was dropped because you already have Dimensional
Fissure and Macro Cosmos. Banisher is just icing on
the cake. Bazoo had to go because this is a Macro
deck, and with 7 cards removing everything, you
won't find yourself with a monster in the Graveyard
too often. The Apprentice Magician and its targets
had to go because they don't fit in too well here.
Dark Core had to go period. The loss in advantage
just to remove a monster isn't worth it, especially
when playing Fissure / Smashing Ground will do the
job just as well with Macro Cosmos / Dimensional
Fissure on the field. Nobleman of Crossout won't
help too much here because of the speed of the game
here. Eradicator Epidemic left because there's only
one target, so that makes using it incredibly
difficult.
That was a mouthful. Now I'm trying to keep this
deck at 40-41 cards and you had 45 to start with, so
that leaves me with 5-6 slots to work with, so let
me go to work.
+ 1 Caius the Shadow Monarch
+ 1 D.D. Scout Plane
+ 2 D.D. Assailant
+ 1 D.D. Warrior / Exiled Force
+ 1 Magic Drain / Seven Tools of the Bandit
I added 6, putting you at 41 cards. That's good. Now
for a few explanations. Caius came in to do our
removing for us, removing whatever may be causing
problems. The third D.D. Scout Plane ensures us with
more Tribute bait and makes sure we always have a
monster on the field along with the 3 D.D. Survivor.
The Assailants came to aid in getting rid of
anything bigger that may be causing problems (like
Jinzo), plus they make nice beatsticks and
deterrents to attacks. The D.D. Warrior / Exiled
Force is additional removal in place of Dark Core.
The Magic Drain / Seven Tools is for protection.
I do need to point out that in place of your Magic
Drains / Seven Tools, you should put in Solemn
Judgment and Dark Bribe if you have them as they do
the jobs much better. If you can get them, use
them.
There you have it. I'll be the first to admit I'm
not an expert on Macro decks (because I haven't been
playing them for a long time - my specialities lie
with Burn, Light, and Water), but I did what I
could. Let me know how things work out for you.
