Trading Card Game Tips from fans
JUNE 2008
Deck Fix: Anti-Meta - Master of Shadows Another minute, another deck fix from Master of Shadows. Business is booming. I would start charging you all for this, but that wouldn't be right, and I enjoy helping you all out with your decks. Anyways, first, the message: Would a DD and Monarch Caius deck be considered an "Anti-Meta" deck and would i have a good chance of doing well in a regional w/ a deck like this? Also what cards would you take out or include in this deck to complete it:
Monsters: 3 Caius the Storm Monarch 1 DD Warrior Lady 3 DD Scout Planes 3 DD Survivor 2 DD Assailant 1 DD Warrior Lady 2 Banisher of Radiance 1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer 1 Golden Homunculus
Spells: 2 Reinforcement of the Army 3 Dimensional Fissure 1 Lightning Vortex 2 Enemy Controller 1 MST 2 Different Dimension Reincarnation 1 Brain Control 1 Monster Reborn
Traps: 2 Macro Cosmos 1 Return from the Different Dimension 1 Torrential Tribute 1 Escape from the Different Dimension
My Ideas: Dark Magician of Chaos, Allure of Darkness, Raiza the Storm Monarch, Armageddon Knight, Heavy Storm, Jinzo???
First things first. I've noticed that there are only 35 cards here. Of course, you wanted me to finish out the deck, so that makes a bit of sense, even though some filler Kuribohs would have been nice. Anyways, onward to the chopping block.
Cards on the chopping block:
- 1 D.D. Warrior Lady (you put this in twice) - 1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer - 1 Golden Homunculus - 2 Banisher of the Radiance
Five cards cut. Hmm. That's weird. I only cut monsters. That could be a good sign. Kycoo left because usually, there'll be nothing for Kycoo to remove, and the Graveyard lockdown is handled by other cards. Golden Homunculus, although it seems like a good idea, has to go in favor of something else that'll work for us. Banisher of the Radiance's job is done by Dimensional Fissure and Macro Cosmos, cards that do the same job without using our Normal Summon for the turn, meaning you can drop D.D. Survivor / D.D. Scout Plane along with them. Now to add in ten cards.
+ 2 Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch + 1 Mobius the Frost Monarch + 1 Raiza the Storm Monarch + 1 Dark Magician of Chaos + 1 Macro Cosmos + 3 Solemn Judgment + 2 Dark Bribe / + 1 Heavy Storm
Thestalos to hurt the hand. Hitting the hand sometimes hurts more than the field. Mobius and Raiza will help clear out whatever may be in the way. Dark Magician of Chaos naturally fits this kind of deck, but may not be needed. The third Macro Cosmos is to cover the loss of the 2 Banisher of the Radiance (which can go in the side deck if you need it to). Solemn Judgment is your all-purpose negator to block anything that may threaten you. Dark Bribe is additional back up to Solemn Judgment to protect you for a lesser cost. You could also use Heavy Storm as a way to push for one final hit, but you really have to be careful about it, though. Heavy Storm works against Macro decks like this, but can be helpful when pushing for game. Use whichever suits you. That'll put you at 41 / 40 cards, depending on your choice. I'm still on the fence about Dark Magician of Chaos. You can replace it and Heavy Storm with Allure of Darkness (if you went with Heavy Storm) or just drop it (to bring things to 40). Good luck with it.
That's it for now, Pojoers. Questions, comments, deck fixes, article suggestions, etc. can be sent to darkdestructionv30@yahoo.com Until next time....
