Trading Card Game Tips from fans
JUNE 2008 Hello, everyone. Another deck fix has Master of Shadows for you. This time, it's a Cloudian deck, something I haven't tackled yet. Well, no time like the present, so let's get cracking! Hello, my name's JL. I'm in desperate need of your help. I'm not sure what to do with my decks. I have 4 decks all in all, 2 under the Traditional Format and the other two otherwise. I need a deck fix for the 2 decks under Advanced Format; First the Cloudian deck and next the D.D. Deck. I would really appreciate your help.
First, the Cloudian Deck. The usual problem I acquire during a duel with this deck is lack of activity. I have to wait for keycards such as Sanctuary in the Sky or Spirit Barrier so I can start moving. And then, when they get destroyed, I lose control of the deck. That's what I need help for.
DECK = 45
MONSTERS = 20 Cloudian - Cirrostratus Cloudian - Cirrostratus Cloudian - Nimbusman Cloudian - Nimbusman Cloudian - Nimbusman Cloudian - Poison Cloud Cloudian - Poison Cloud Cloudian - Posion Cloud Cloudian - Acid Cloud Cloudian - Acid Cloud Cloudian - Ghost Fog Cloudian - Ghost Fog Cloudian - Sheep Cloud Cloudian - Altus Cloudian - Turbulence Cloudian - Turbulence Cloudian - Turbulence Cloudian - Smoke Ball Cloudian - Smoke Ball Nova Summoner Gellenduo
SPELLS = 14 Mystical Space Typhoon Swords of Revealing Light Magical Mallet Fog Control Terraforming Cloudian Squall Cloudian Squall Cloudian Squall Diamond Dust Cyclone Sanctuary in the Sky Sanctuary in the Sky Summon Cloud Heavy Storm Lightning Vortex
TRAPS = 11 Negate Attack Solemn Judgment Seven Tools of the Bandit Shadow Imprisoning Mirror Shadow Imprisoning Mirror Spirit Barrier Widespread Ruin Updraft Natural Disaster
(Any ideas for a side deck?)
This'll be a bit of a challenge. From what I know about the Cloudian monsters that I do know of, it seems like you're trying to accumulate Fog Counters to either use with the Cloudians' effects or use Updraft and try to end the game with it. At least, that's what I gathered. Let's see what I can do.
Cards to blow away:
- 2 Cloudian - Nimbusman - 3 Cloudian - Poison Cloud - 3 Cloudian - Turbulence - 2 Cloudian - Smoke Ball - 1 Nova Summoner - 1 Gellenduo - 1 Magical Mallet - 1 Diamond Dust Cyclone - 1 Summon Cloud - 1 Negate Attack - 1 Seven Tools of the Bandit - 1 Natural Disaster - 1 Widespread Ruin - 2 Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror
I cut 21 cards leaving 24 in the deck, so I have 16-18 cards to add here. Many cards here didn't help with what we want with this deck - to accumulate as many Fog Counters as possible on both sides of the field. Now, this may be a bit difficult because of how easily most outs are drawn due to ridiculous draw engines and such, but we'll do what we can. Those Cloudians had to be cut to make way for other things. Nova Summoner and Gellenduo are useless here. Diamond Dust Cyclone needs at least 8 Fog Counters on one monster to pay for itself and the monster it destroyed, and those Fog Counters could be used for something better. Summon Cloud is unnecessary because there will almost always be a Cloudian on the field. The other cards are decent side deck choices. Now to add things.
Cards to add:
+ 1 Cloudian - Altus + 3 Cloudian - Storm Dragon + 1 Cloudian - Sheep Cloud + 2 A Cat of Ill Omen + 1 The Sanctuary in the Sky / Terraforming + 2 Messenger of Peace + 1 Monster Reborn + 1 Premature Burial + 2 Solemn Judgment + 2 Updraft + 1 Spirit Barrier + 1 Gravity Bind
I added 18 cards, bringing you to 42 cards. Altus as another Cloudian to help accumulate Fog Counters. Storm Dragon to help your Cloudians by not only providing another Cloudian to give another Fog Counter but it also provides a Fog Counter itself. A Cat of Ill Omen is to search out the apparent win condition, Updraft, something that will be very powerful when chained. The revival cards to bring up the Cloudians for more Fog Counters by Cloudian Squall. The protection cards to protect your monsters from being attacked without your damage protection cards, sort of like a back up plan.
Limit Reverse could also work in here as another revival card since all the Cloudians here fit. I hope this helps. Have fun with it. Just remember not to use Updraft until it's time, usually when it ends the game. Having two of them face down will really help.
That's all I have for now. Comments, questions, etc. can be sent to darkdestructionv30@yahoo.com
Until next time....
