Deck Fix 9-
Spellcasters
Hi I'm Chris.
I've been a fan of spell casters since I started
playing and have
always had trouble playing them successively against
the meta game.
Please help.
Deck:42
Monsters:18
1 Dark Magician of Chaos
1 Chaos Command Magician
1 Cybernetic Magician
1 Dark Red Enchanter
2 Skilled Dark Magician
2 Kycoo the Ghost destroyer
1 D.D. Warrior Lady
1 Injection Fairy Lily
2 Apprentice Magician
1 Crystal Seer
2 Old Vindictive Maigician
1 Neo - Spacian Grand Mole
1 Spell Striker
1 Spirit Reaper
Spells:16
3 Magical Dimension
2 Lightning Vortex
1 Fires of Doomsday
1 Mage Power
1 Magical Blast
1 Nobleman of `Crossout (I sometimes use Swords of
Revealing Light in
it's place.)
2 Magical Mallet
1 Enemy Controller
1 Monster Reborn
1 Premature Burial
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
Traps:6
1 Divine Wrath
1 Spell Shield Type - 8
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Magician's Circle
2 Thunder of Ruler
Please can I have some advice on possibly an
alternative win condition
besides Spell caster - Return as I don't have
Dimension Fusion or
Return From the Different Dimension just D.D.M.
Different Dimension
Master. I also lack Mirror Force.
Hey Chris, thanks for sending in your decklist! I'll
se what I can do to fix this up for you. What I
noticed with this build was that you are able to set
up a pretty good field in the early game, but you
had trouble setting up for the kill in the late
game. The first thing that I noticed was that you
had certain cards that didn't seem to tie into the
goal that you were going after, so I took those
select few out. I then playtested and tweaked the
deck in order for it to be more consistent. Here's
what I removed and what I added:
Removed:
-1 Cybernetic Magician
-1 Dark Red Enchanter
-1 D.D. Warrior Lady
-1 Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
-1 Spell Striker
-2 Lightning Vortex
-1 Fires of Doomsday
-1 Mage Power
-1 Nobleman of Crossout
-2 Magical Mallet
-1 Divine Wrath
-1 Spell Shield Type 8
-2 Thunder of Ruler
Warrior Lady, Grand Mole, and Spell Striker seem out
of place in this build, and I took out the
Cybernetic Magician and Dark Red Enchanter because I
didn't want tributes to clog your hand as it did
mine. After the tweaks, Mallet, NoC, Mage Power, and
Fires of Doomsday were not needed anymore, as well
as the 2 Thunder of Rulers. The Vortexes were taken
out because of you having multiple ways of
destroying monsters already main decked. I believe
that Divine Wrath and Spell Shield Type 8 belong in
the side deck for this build, instead of the main
deck.
Added:
+1 Chaos Command Magician
+1 Skilled Dark Magician
+1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
+1 Crystal Seer
+2 Injection Fairy Lily
+1 Sangan
+1 Marshmallon
+1 Morphing Jar
+1 Enemy Controller
+1 Scapegoat
+3 Waboku
+1 Magician's Circle
+1 Trap Dustshoot
+1 Mind Crush
I basically added cards I thought would make this
build more stable. Offense is provided by the extra
copies of Kycoo, Skilled Dark Magician, Injection
Fairy Lily, and Chaos Command Magician, defense by
Crystal Seer, Sangan, Marshmallon, Morphing Jar,
Enemy Controller, Scapegoat, and Wabokus. A cool
battle option with Magician Circle, and Trap
Dustshoot and Mind Crush for hand control.
Here's the finished deck:
Spellcasters: 40 Cards
Monsters: (22)
Dark Magician of Chaos
Chaos Command Magician x2
Skilled Dark Magician x3
Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer x3
Apprentice Magician x2
Old Vindictive Magician x2
Crystal Seer x2
Injection Fairy Lily x3
Sangan
Spirit Reaper
Marshmallon
Morphing Jar
Spells: (10)
Magical Dimension x3
Enemy Controller x2
Monster Reborn
Premature Burial
Heavy Storm
Mystical Space Typhoon
Scapegoat
Traps: (8)
Waboku x3
Torrential Tribute
Magician's Circle x2
Trap Dustshoot
Mind Crush
You'll want to push for control as early as possible
in the duel in order for the deck to be seen at it's
full potential. There are some cool combos in here,
especially if you have an injection fairy lily on
the field. Nothing says ouch like an injection
swinging for 3400, then a magical dimension to bring
another one out for another 3400. Magical Dimension
really is the key to the deck, and's it's one
seriously effective win condition. It has so many
different uses, just be careful about bring out DMOC
with it: If you choose to destroy a monster with
Dimension's effect, you miss the timing on DMOC's
effect, and cannot bring out a spell from the grave.
Well, Chris, I hope that I've given you some new
ideas, and deck fixes/comments/questions are always
welcome.
