Dark Necrofear
Dark/Fiend/8/2200/2800/Effect
This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 3 Fiend-Type monsters in your Graveyard from play. When this card is destroyed in battle or by your opponent's card effect, it is treated as an Equip Magic Card at the end of the turn. Equip 1 of your opponent's monsters with this card. As long as it is equipped with this card, you control the equipped monster.

A Snatch Steal that doesn't let your opponent gain any LP when it dies. 2200ATK is nothing to scoff at either. The 2800DEF can really mean a big wall. If your opponent has something big enough to kill it in Battle, then you can just "steal" it.

This card is pretty good if you make a deck based on it. Some of the best Fiend cards that you should consider are La Djinn, Summoned Skull, Giant Germ, Sangan and Kuriboh. A cool card to speed the deck up a bit is Painful Choice. You can also use the obvious Graceful Charity to dump Fiend cards and thin your deck at the same time.

Since we can still use 3 Graceful Charities for now, Dark Necrofear decks are a lot more viable. But once it's restricted, it shouldn't be that good anymore.

wartortle32 Thursday - Dark Necrofear

This monster can only be special summoned by removing 3 fiends from your grave. Then when this card is destroyed (as a monster, not as an equip) you gain control of one of the opponent's monster at the end of the turn with this equipped to that monster.

Finding the 3 fiends to remove shouldn't be too hard at all with la jinn, giant germ, and Summoned Skull as likely candidates. However, I think the change of heart effect is overrated. You're only going to use the effect once as you wont get the effect if it dies as an equip card. And once you get the opponent's monster, you'll probably have it for 2-3 turns at the most with all the monster removal going around.

I give this card a 3.5/5. At the most, it can be a real nuisance to the opponent, but it wont win you too many games.

Ultra Rare

Dark Necrofear is one of those cards that wants to be abused. I love the fact that it's a Special Summon and you don't have to Tribute any of your Monsters on the Field for it. The stats are nowhere near bad either. And as an added bonus, you get a great secondary Effect as well.

My favorite two cards to combo with Dark Necrofear are Painful Choice and Kuriboh. Painful Choice allows you to quickly summon a Dark Necrofear at pretty much any time during the game. Kuriboh on the other hand has a pretty decent Effect which involves tossing it into the Graveyard.

Dark Necrofear isn't without enemies though. Torrential Tribute and Dark Hole wipe the board clean, thus not allowing you to activate Dark Necrofear's secondary Effect. If Dark Necrofear hasn't even hit the Field yet, then Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer walks all over the Monster.

Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer does two things which hurt Dark Necrofear based decks. First of all, it's Effect completely disallows Dark Necrofear to even be Special Summoned onto the Field. Secondly, it can potentially remove Fiend type Monsters in your opponent's Graveyard from the game. This is useful for the fact that your opponent will eventually destroy your Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer.
