Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Dark Necrofear
Ultra Rare

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 3 Fiend-Type monsters in your Graveyard from play. When this card is destroyed as a result of battle or by your opponent's card effect, it is treated as an Equip Spell Card at the end of the turn. Equip 1 of your opponent's monsters with this card. As long as it is equipped with this card, you control the equipped monster.

Type - Fiend/Effect
Card Number - DB2-EN004

Card Ratings
Traditional: 2.5
Advanced: 5

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale 1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.

ExMinion OfDarkness
Dark Necrofear

Great theme card.

And when I say theme card, I mean you actually have to be running a Fiend deck to play this well. You can't just throw in Slate Warriors and hope for the best.

As for the card itself, 2800 defense is superb; 2200 ATK on a Special Summon isn't bad either (hey, we DO play Cyber Dragon don't we?) The second effect is the icing on the cake, getting to take a monster if Necrofear is destroyed (the first time. It doesn't come back AGAIN if it's destroyed while an Equip Spell.)

If you can get it out, you have a really big wall your opponent may not want to kill (best option being to either Dark Hole so it has nothing to get, or use DDWL/DDA to get it out of there.)

And for those of you thinking to run this in Dark World....don't. The deck conflicts on what it wants to do if you run Necro. You're trying to discard Dark World monsters, sure, but (A) this is to Special Summon them most of the time, (B) you're most likely wanting to pull them back out of the Graveyard with Gateway to Dark World, and (C) you're ALSO wanting to pull them out with Forces of Darkness to get their effects again. You HOPEFULLY won't have enough monsters in there to even play Necrofear so don't bother.

Coin Flip
To tell the truth, this card should really be Wednesday's card, but whatever.

I just remembered the days of Fiber Jar and then remembered the days of Labyrinth of Nightmare… People playing 3 Bazoo before the little soul eater was errata'd and put away for many seasons… Skull Lair being INCREDIBLY broken. This little chick got passed over many times and attempted unsuccessfully by many people in tournaments. The good news is that now it's even easier to summon. We have MUCH better fiends for attacking (such as Slate Warrior and Goblin Elite Attack
Force) as well as a good card drawer (bet most of you forgot about Dark Mimic LV1!). Giant Germ is also a solid card, provided you can find room to fit the mandatory three copies of it in your deck…

Well, this card isn't at all SJC Top 8 worthy, but it does kill Cyber Dragons and it can occasionally be a Snatch Steal, though smart opponents will just play around it. Personally, I consider this card to be really fun, but like many, I know the difference between "really fun and playable" and "really fun but completely unplayable". Sadly, to give this card a high rating would be lying.

Still doesn't mean this card isn't fun. Try it out at least once.
Keep in mind that errata has come out on it. The effect only activates if it's a MONSTER card when it's destroyed.

But then again, to give it a rating would deny the fact that this card is completely unsplashable, and I dislike denying *facts*. In it's own deck, 5/5. Elsewhere, 1.1/5 suits it quite well.

Dark Paladin
Dark Necrofear is our card today, one I've always particularly liked.
The effect is simple. Remove three fiends from play, and you get to special summon something with 2200 attack points.

The deck is solid, at least, and I wish I saw more of them. You could always add Dimension Fusion to the deck for some swarming or even just for a surprise. Finally, if Dark Necrofear is destroyed, there's the Snatch Steal effect as you are well aware.

Ratings:

Traditional Dark Necrofear: 4.5/5
Advanced Dark Necrofear: 5/5

Art: 4.5/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
